    D&D 3E/3.5 New D&D 3.5 FAQ at Wizards!

Poor Hyp; I can only hope he will take some small comfort in the fact that he's right. PS- Skip, the traditional substance for a sage's pipe is tobacco, not opium. Please switch back at your earliest possible convenience. Addendum- If this "ruling" sticks, I hereby propose that we unofficially...

    New character creation/Game of death!

Will characters start flat-footed, even though they are aware of each other (and each other's intentions), prior to combat starting?

    Should adventurers be "better"?

No, that pretty much simulates real life. For every "shining example" of a genetically ungifted successful person, there are 10 successes who were born with a genetic edge. Sorry. "Drake Darklance (don't laugh)" ... "Drake is a skinny, bandy-legged white guy" This is, ultimately, what the...

    Developer's Roundtable: Mystic Theurge

If Monte really said this, he needs a hug. :D This... ...directly contradicts his *following paragraph*... ...not to mention the fact that a Wiz7/Clr3/MT10 would get 7th level clerical spells (I'm sure he meant 8th). Anyway, one paragraph he thinks requiring 3rd level arcane and divine...

Do you find the Mystic Theurge overpowered?

Mearls: agreed. Thresher: I actually like that focus on 'crunch' for the MT; I hope that more PrC's are done like that. It's easy enough to add flavor for my campaign; it's a lot harder to convine to a player that just because a behavior is included in the official fluff for a PrC doesn't...

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5]Wooohhoooo ! spellcasters

No, I think it would be an Arcane Magic Missle memorized from an Arcane spellbook or scroll.

Mystic Theurge PrC - They've got to be kidding!

Remember, this is a 3.5 class; maybe we should wait and see that the 3.5 Epic changes will be before we start rewriting what is otherwise a well-balanced class. Epic is broken, anyway; just sitting back and enjoying the munchy goodness would be my vote, rather than spending time trying to mend...

Mystic Theurge PrC - They've got to be kidding!

The MT gives up a little bit of power for a lot of versatility; imho, that's how it should be. If your idea of D&D is the 'Iconic' co-dependant foursome skipping down the yellow-brick road, then you probably don't like the Mystic Theurge, or any other generalist class that doesn't gimp the...

Fix a broken spell -- Miasma

It isn't 'errata', at least not yet. It was either an email or msg board post from the actual author of the spell, stating that he had written Miasma with a Fort save to negate, and he didn't know why it was published with the save missing. That's the last I've heard about it.

Fix a broken spell -- Miasma

Supposedly Miasma has a Fort save to negate that was left out of MotW for some reason; just using that should solve the problem (personally, I would change the duration to one or two rounds/level as well).

    Bubble-boy: Line of Effect issues.

Don't be sorry; my reading comprehension skills are just fine. It's something called 'context'. This is a helpful hint for everyone, not just Hong; if people are using windows for cover from targetted spells IYC, you might want to reexamine your interpretation of Line of Effect and Line of...

    Bubble-boy: Line of Effect issues.

Only certain spells like Wall of Force state that they block LoE of most spells; I'm sorry that you allow regular windows to have the same potency. Why the hell would I worry, when I wasn't even wrong? It's your game your mucking up, if you let regular windows block spells. I'd love to see...

    Bubble-boy: Line of Effect issues.

I'm not sure why you would intentionally misinterpret the rules in such a broken fashion (Resilient Shere, in particular, becomes an incredibly broken spell with your houserule). I thought it was fairly obvious that the window-line of effect applied to spells like Fireball, or many ray spells...
