    Rules change ruined the economy!

Pearls of Speech are in the Magic Item Compendium. I realize that's not straight up Pathfinder, but it's a fairly cheap item (600 gp) so it's not exactly a game-breaker.

    Rules change ruined the economy!

Pearls of Speech should be important to any merchant economy. Perhaps this land is also the place where people come to plot intrigue, being that it's a place where items facilitate communication.

Pathfinder 1E Biggest Difference between Pathfinder and D&D 3

Any monster your DM is running will need an upgrade. An on the fly upgrade was to give the monsters a +2 to every roll and giving them Improved Initiative and Toughness to bring them up to their proper CR.

Would humans and other playable races even exist in D&D?

Plus, just because those bastardly beasties are out there, doesn't mean there's enough of them around to mount a huge threat. 1st edition MM was wonderful in illustrating the commonality and rarity of monsters. In general, the higher the CR, the less of those creatures out there.

    Girallons as mounts?

Is your character a halfling or gnome? I could definitely see a Thunderdome setup there...

    Low-level mooks vs. 8th & 9th level PCs

Here's what I'd do. As someone stated above, split the party up. But don't play the encounters simultaneously. Instead, pit each pc against a party of pirates run by the other players (Along with maybe a couple of monsters run by yourself). This gives each pc a moment to shine, and keeps the...

Random questions on psionics (lurk and deep crystals)

I'm playing a Lurk and multiclassing to Warblade (ToB:Bo9S). It's working really well. The Diamond Mind maneuvers work with Concentration, so it's a natural fit. They complement each other very well.

    Why Are Bards...Bards?

James Bond? Bard. Sure, he's got to have a few ranks in Perform (Dance), don't you think? He's danced many a girl in the movies. See, I think a bard is a perfect class for a spy, also. One would think that the Perform skill means that a bard wants to call attention to themselves all the time...

    African D&D Settings?

While I admire the spirit of sharing, it would definitely upset me were someone to use material originally presented in Nyambe and turn in a substandard product. The dilution of a brand name is not something to be taken lightly, methinks.

Races of... books -- worth getting?

There definitely does seem to be a downward progression in quality. Races of Stone was pretty good, although I had an initial dislike to the Goliaths. Races of Destiny was terrible, though. It did not a thing to help play humans, half-elves, or half-orcs with more flavor. (Nor address their poor...

    D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 problematic rules list needed

Whether Bluff: Feint trumps Uncanny Dodge. Why is there no definitive answer for this? Defining alignment where the rubber meets the road. Exactly. Alignment should be either a strict mechanic or optional rule. Mounted combat Grappling (especially with natural weapons/unarmed strikes)...

    Examples of Power Creep?

Wow. Take a day off from the boards and the responses fly by. Anyhow, in regards to the above, it's not that huge a problem. Just dial up multiple EL/CR encounters. Or swarm the Buff Dude with more adversaries. I can see the problem, don't get me wrong. But the real root of this "power creep"...

    Examples of Power Creep?

I'm not getting how options are overpowered. Overpowered between PCs? So what? When are you supposed to be at each other's throats? Overpowered versus the DM? Impossible, since the DM is the final arbiter on what's allowed to be in the game, and has even more options available than the players...
