I would like to point out a tactic that I use with Persistant spell to avoid tieing up slots each day. Cast the persistant spells 8.1 hours before you get new spells. Then when you get new spells leave the slots open. That way you have the option of filling them with other spells during the day...

Oh come on now. There is at least an arguement for both sides. It's not such a given. :) After somemore thought though I think I'll let them make raging sneak attacks. It still seems conceptually wonky though.

I just found out about the convention from your post and might try to go :) I've never been to a convention before so I'm pretty curious. Has anyone been to this one before? Roughly how large is it usually?

The benefit is that on any round that you don't attack you get the +1 AC (or better for magic bucklers).

A wizard in my game has a toad familiar that he keeps in a familiar carrier from TaB. What kind of effects would you force the familiar to suffer? Physical attack on the carrier are spelled out in the rules. I am mostly wondering about spell effects. I wouldn't think something like a fireball...

I know what you mean. I used to come up with countless character ideas that I wanted to play but never got to use them. So what did I do? I started DMing. Now I can make all the characters I want :)
