The Keith Baker *Kudos* Thread- No trolls.

I am very much looking forward to this setting as I think it will be my Dark Sun. I have been waiting for a steamish setting and the IK stuff just wasn't appealing to me. From what I have seen of this in that preview, sans editorial comments, I think it looks great. This will be a nice niche product and still be DnD...

Good job keith

Congratulations, KB.

I can't wait to see the final product.

Hopefully it's just the thing to get our group back to d20.

Either way, I'm hoping Keith the best.

See, I too got this kind of "dark sun" feeling when looking at the slide show. Not "desert," but things like alien-looking architecture, somewhat organic-looking armor/weapons, the fierce halflings riding a lizard (wasn't there a lizard-like mount in DS?), stuff like that. It does seem to be a bit of a mish mash but it might start to come into focus a bit if I knew what the underlying "nugget" they kept referring to was.

Being a history buff and research addict...I want to propose a theory.
This new setting might be early earth history. Take a look at the jpeg from the posting at gamingreport.com and this early shot of Pangea...before the continents moved. Check out the top continent of Pangea and compare to the drawn map.

Thought that with all the dinosaurs in it that it might be hinting that this all takes place in our past. Therefore, many players may more readily buy into it. (Sort of like Tolkien and Robert E. Howard did with their respective worlds.) What do you think?

I think the Lightning Rail looks completely pimp, and I'm looking forward to finding out more about this setting.

Just because I won't run it doesn't mean I can't get some inspiration from it. And let's face it; originality is hard to come by these days. I know I often find myself lacking. :)

That's an interesting theory, but over on Gaming Report the author of the setting posted that dinosaurs really weren't a huge part of the campaign - they were just something that saw small use in one small part of one small country. Very interesting hypothesis, though, and would make for an interesting setting.

I read that whole other thread and even replied in it. My post might not sounded like kudos but it is.

After seeing the pictures, the flying ship and the train looked cool. It still had an Earthdawn feel to me still BUT thats a good thing. I love Earthdawn.

I will be interested in seeing what the finished product is like.

Again Congrats Keith Baker!!!
