Wow, you can do set design/construction, too? Working in film/theatre is a whole new ball game - you're not just following your own creative process any more. The creation of sets just fascinates me, even though all I know about it comes from "the making of" and "behind the scenes" documentaries.

How often do you lose pots during firing?

10-30 minutes each.
big ones don't go for les than $100, BIG ones can go for as much as $400.
A little math... Assume you work 8 hours a day... assume 30 minutes/$400... 40 hours a week... 52 weeks a year...

[mind boggles]That's $1,664,000 per year![/mind boggles]

And he'd have us believe he's just a simple country man barely making his way in the world... No wonder he can afford to give a few gamers some discounts.

ok, I know my math is screwy and those numbers don't really work, but it was still fun to figure out. :)

Make Money Fast, eh?

Oh yeah, if you could just throw pots all day, and sell every single unfired pot for the price of a finished one, you could make LOTS of money. Think you might be onto something here!

The key word is "if", of course... ;)

indeed. i carry bags of materials, stack wood, move bricks and cut wood for about 3-4 hours for every hour i spend throwing pots.

i am lucky to throw 2 days a week, and usually 2-3 hours then.

but the math is temppting! :)
