Secret War (Marvel): Anyone reading this?

Why, you're all getting confused between Secret War and Secret Wars. I've read up on this in the past. They specifically dropped that 's' to avoid all this confusion! Silly people!

It does look interesting - haven't picked it up, but the art is certainly cool, and Bendis is by no means an awful writer.

I just read the first issue today. Wow, I'm already hooked, its awesome.

Its titled "Secret War" for two reasons.

1. Because its a massive in-continuity "event" that will ripple throughout the lives of many significant Marvel heroes and villains in the tradition of the original "Secret Wars" and "Secret Wars II." But its not a continuation of either story.

2. Because its about a secret war.

The painted art is spectacular, on the level of such great artistic works as "Marvels" and "Kingdome Come". I've attached two examples taken from the link above (for those too lazy to click on it.)

As far as what looks to be the premise:

Nick Fury realizes that many techologically based super-villains are getting their goods from a backer in Latveria, Fury takes this news to the president who tells him to do nothing because "we have everything under control and we'll handle this diplomatically" after reminding Nick that the US government has made major financial contributions to Latveria's current peace and prosperity.

Fearing another 9/11, it appears Nick is going to recruit the likes of Captain America, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Black Widow, and Luke Cage to conduct their own "secret war" against this enemy unbeknownst to the President and American public.

Looks like it might be one hell of a story.
