What to gestalt a monk with

Any class with heavy armour proficiency, shield proficiency and a plethora of weapon proficiencies has a big bunch of class features wasted when gestalting (did I just invent a new verb?) with monk.

Though combining with cleric does avoid making the monk's MSD any worse.

MSD ?

Fighter gives me a skad of bonus feats, and a better BAB. Those bonus feats will allow me to get exalted earlier on in the "character remake" progression by focusing my 1st and third level feat on sacred vow and vop. That will open up more damage to evil abilities for my unarmed strike. So I'ld literally be a "holy terror" on the battle field.

Sorceror won't get me into VoP earlier (so no bonus exalted feats til 12th) which will net me 5 exalted feats by 20th which frankly won't put me where I want to be on the exalted progression. It does however give me mage armor, cats grace, bulls strength, improved invisibility, true strike, and I am sure a few other things. Another perk to sorceror is the current party sorceror is usually a non-threat to the enemies by 11pm

Cleric for RP reasons would have to be a cleric of Ilmater likely with the strength and suffering domains. The healing is good, but with a cleric of kelemvor, and a healing psion in the party isn't really needed. The psychic warrior is pretty much set on druid so he'll be bringing healing in as well, and the paladin of Lathander is likely to pick Cleric of Lathander as hers as well.

All that said I guess the one thing keeping me from making the choice I likely "should" make is I HATE CASTING. but I think it is needed in this case.

I am likely going to end up stating all three out. We have a character revamping session for most of us tonight (in about 13 hours actually.)

Yuppers, but then again I am a rather pleasant fellow and would hate to step on her toes.

Same deal with the clerics that abound. No need for me to be showing off in front of them with my wisdom that is only going to get better as I gain levels after choosing VoP. I mean at 20 I'll have a 31 wisdom (8 from VoP 3 more from level) There wouldn't be much they could do as a cleric that I couldn't do better. I can't see that being much fun for them. Oh wait they can raise /resurrect party members. I don't see a VoP owning a 5000 gp diamond anytime soon.

hmmm monk/psychic warrior and we are using "psionics is different". Interesting. Gonna have to (black)leaf (noooo) through the XPH/PH when we retool

I absolutely agree

Monk/Druid.

Going flurry of blows while in Bear form is the ultimate in smack downs.

Can't post the details now, but this character ROCKS! I'm playing one of these now, and it's the best character in the party.

Naw if I were going divine caster I would go with cleric.

Psychic warrior / fighter are piquing my interest still.

Psychic warrior gives me the fighter bonus feats, just a bit slower but it's really only the first couple I am in a hurry for. Plus I get some spell like ability roughly equal to what I would have used sorceror for (self buffs).

still not ruling out sorceror though.

*sigh* I never wanted to multi or even prestige class because I felt the monk gave up too much by way of damage dice and armor bonuses.
