Can you research this and find out if you can do this? i.e. improved trip removes the AOO for initiating a trip, but can you do this unarmed? Do you then provoke an AOO for doing a combat action unarmed? Etc.

OOC: They beat me to it. I was more worried about the leg thing, but yes, as per trip, it says I can do it :) I did read it off the SRD when I typed it, sorry.

"You know, I'd appreciate a bit of help over here.", Almayce mumbles to Juliana and others, as he takes a step towards Vargo, and heals this 4 points with his wand of Cure Light Wounds (touch range, 1d8+1).

"Working on it, feel free to bring him over here." Juliana replies.

End of round 5

I6: Juliana moves up and initiates a trip attack on poor ol’ LongTooth. Just mean. Rolls a “6” touch attack which, all this being equal, is about par for the course. Misses.

I6: Almayce: “ You know, I'd appreciate a bit of help over here.", Almayce mumbles to Juliana and others, as he takes a step towards Vargo, and heals this 4 points with his wand of Cure Light Wounds (touch range, 1d8+1).

I1: Vargo and Wolf do their “thing” which has worked out so well so far. Vargo attempts to “aid another” and – oh my! Oh my. “16”. Does, in fact, “aid another.”

Huln attempts to BITE/GNAW, given how nicely his ‘master’ is helping out. Huln rolls a “10” and fails to hit. Shew. It's a freakin' battle of attrition!

Round 6 start

Round 6:

LongTooth 20
Hallidor 20
BatS 19
Slinker 17
Ogrin 16
Stinker 14
Raz 13
Zaeryl 13
Juliana 6
Almayce 6
Vargo & Wolf 1

I20: LongTooth, quite entirely sick of all this tripping and etc., attacks Juliana again. She is the only target, incidentally, within reach after making a 5’ step, that does not have soft cover – so I’m not just being mean. (There is only on square to move to due to trees).

LongTooth, looking a bit nervous about all the people surrounding him, despite his being relatively unscathed, just wants to hit, do damage, and get on with his life.

“Looks like it’s between you and me,” he grunts to Juliana, swinging his fearsome weapon.

“1”. Rolls a freakin’ 1. Unreal.

I20: Hallidor, hearing Almayce’s cry for help, and seeing how he’s pretty far away from LongTooth, decides to move over and engage Slinker.

“One good turn deserves another,” shouts Hallidor loudly and with increasing good humor, despite the rather dire straights, “I’ll take care of this mongrel for you.”

He swings his lovely mace and, with a “4”, misses by about nine feet.

I19: The bats do “1” damage to Raz and nothing to Stinker. {Is anyone ever going to, well, attack the bats, ever?}. Everyone not healed bleeds – I think this is just Z and Ogrin at this point.

I17: Slinker pokes and bites Hallidor, who is rather confused by this double attack. Hallidor realizes it’s not going to be easy with this guy either. He is poked in a critical way by the rapier (19/18), and takes 8 points of damage; he got off easy. However, he crumples down to the ground, having been at 5.

I16: Ogrin bleeds.

I14: Stinker pokes and bites at Raz. Amazingly, with an “18” the bite hits… oops no, it misses due to +2 ac for bats. Sorry.

I13: Raz. What does Raz do?

Juliana's next action: She will take a 5' Step (If needed) towards Longtooth, and make an unarmed trip attack (does not provoke an AoO due to improved Trip, +2 to hit touch AC, +6 opposed str or dex check, and if fails, he can try to trip me back (Str vs +2). If I succeed, I get a free attack with the arrow (net +2 (+2, -4 for imp weap, +4 vs prone) , 1d4+2, 20x2)).

Lather, rinse, repeat... er... same thing next round :)

"Not again...", Almayce mumbles, steps closer to Juliana (one square down) and uses his wand of Cure Light Wounds (touch range, 1d8+1) to heal Hallidor 2 points. Which of course is not enough to get him back to his feet.

Does Ogrin bleed both due to the bats and the fact that he's below 0, ie 2 per round? Or does he bleed 1, but with no chance of stabilisation?

That's the answer. 1 with no chance of stabilization.

Vargo, with an excellent spot check ("19"), and in fact the only party member with sufficient spot skills to hit the DC of 26, manages to see that, around LongTooth's neck, bouncing somewhat as LongTooth dances and attackes and defends, is a silver necklace with a blob attached to it; the blob Vargo realizes in a rush is a stylized Bat.
