Why? It's not like they made it into a different type of car, just a different model of 18-wheeler. (And a much cooler one, IMO, then the original - I always liked the "classic" big rigs much better than the newer, completely boxy models with the cab over the engine. That, and the greater size and the more complex shape of one like this would probably give the animators a lot more to play with.)

Yeah, I realized that and I rummaged through my Temp Internet Files to find that picture again (found it, btw) and was about to attach it, just to see that you beat me to it.

Curse my metal body! I wasn't fast enough!

They could have accomplished it, count me as a Transformer purist. I'll hold final judgement till I see the robot form.

Um . . . it's a truck. How is this news? Seriously, someone just took a digital photo of a truck, posted it online, and said it was a pic of Optimus Prime. I mean, that'd be like going to the zoo, taking a picture of a gorilla, and saying, "Look, they're going to have BeastWars Optimus Prime!"

I am greatly amused.

I guess (regardless of whether that's a real picture or not) I just don't care, unless they do something really dumb, and decide to make a Transformer in the shape of a boom box, or a dinosaur, or something.

If that is the truck then I have no complaints at all. I don't think it would make sense to update some of the cars to the current model and then leave other cars or truck in the early 80s design.
