Need help on two NPCs

Well, I guess I could change the basic at will into something slightly different and give him another normal power, but I don't expect him to lose the sword and I didn't want to bother with complications that will never arise. I have no experience in NPCs of this level and so therefore request help. Any ideas of another item (or two?) that he might help would also be appreciated.

How did you get a resumen of the information in that format?

Looks good by the way!
Using the monster builder. I couldn't imagine using anything else. I have a much better looking image (or RTF).

It was just cause you in the fluff mentioned that he was the best swordman in town. Either way...

He needs better attacks. Only attacking at 150% compared to a standard monster will put him on the low side, power-wise. Give him double attack and perhaps even a rechargeable minor attack power as well. Elites and solos usually get the most status effects thrown at them, so chances are that he will be dazed/dominated/stunned a good deal of the encounter anyway.

Also, having elites who heal is usually begging for a grindy combat.

Hope it helps

PS: you might also want to make one of the enc/daily powers recharge 6 or 5

Here's a revised version given your comments.

Looks better :) - a couple of things more though, if I may. Normally a soldier's tohit is level + 7, which is 19. But when you target NADs, you normally take 2 off, so it should be 17. Also, as per the new guidelines from the MM3, you should take another 2 off. Which would make the attack +15 vs Reflex. Still decent ;)

Also, you now have 3 recharge powers. Personally I do not mind that many (I use a system with a green-yellow-red order, with green being the top power and red the bottom power), but you might.

And just one more thing....

A lot of the new MM3 monsters have effects on their basic attacks, instead of necessitating a hit - meaning that you might want to consider that the mark should be automatic, instead of only on a hit, to emphasize their soldier (defender) role...

Heh heh... yeah, Monster Builder, :erm: I got that. I meant how did you get the information into text like that from the monster builder rather than a picture? :)

But seeing as how you were able to upload a picture I'm assuming enworld supports exported .monster files?... going to give it a try so you can check out my version of your swordsman...

And fail... so that is beyond my informatic know how (which doesn't have to be very far at all really)

So how did you do that again?

The Monster Builder allows you to copy as Rich Text (RTF) or as an image. The RTF copy I just pasted into an sblock. The recipient of the paste (my browser entry box) simply took the text-only version from the clipboard.

For the image, I don't have a standard location to store them, though I could do it on my personal site (infiniti2000.com). So, instead I pasted it into Paint Shop Pro, saved it to my desktop and then uploaded the image file using the Manage Attachments (you can't do this with a quick reply). The upload mechanism supports a number of file types: Valid file extensions: bmp dnd4e doc fcw gif jpe jpeg jpg mp3 pdf png psd rar rtf tif txt xls zip

Btw, it's the copy as RTF that I find most useful. I paste my bad guys into Word documents that I have nicely formatted for, essentially, one page per encounter.
