[Adventure] The Lost Treasure of House Cannith (Judge: Evilbob)

Seeing nothing that looks safer than where he is while attempting to maintain his balance, he lands on another blue tile, causing the floor to shift again. Once again, he struggles for balance, but manages to stay upright.

GM: Floor is now open for the next post from anyone.

The Door:

Karananak is slightly startled by the sun rod being snapped against the wall, bursting into his swarm form in response to the sharp sound even as the bard steps out onto the colored tiles. Eve squeaks as her perch vanishes into a boiling mass of biting and stinging creatures. The swarm moves out onto the first tile the Thalin was standing on.

As Karananak steps onto the now-vacant blue tile, the floor slides again. Both he and Thalin wobble but hold steady. Karananak knocks into the wall with a dull thud, but it doesn't actually harm him.

GM: Karananak should please make the next post in response to the sblock below. Also, as I see nothing that says swarm form cannot be prone, you can be knocked prone, just as the ooze could be even though that made no sense.

[sblock=Karananak]Due to exceptional athletics to maintain balance, you may end your movement either on the square you are currently on, which is purple because the blue one slid under the wall, or on any adjacent square. As I mentioned to Mez privately after his attempt at this, you cannot make any additional checks. This is a reflection of you leaping or stumbling in response to the movement of the floor and having enough control to land where you please.[/sblock]

[sblock=Mechanics]The floor slides causing Karananak and Thalin to lose their balance maybe.

OOC: Sorry missed that Karananak should act next, just have me go right after him and to heck with the consequences.

354b pulls out his everburning torch and sits on his Tensers Floating disk, that has been following him since they got off the boat. Then he will command it to move along the left most side of the hallway(aka the top).

GM: Unfortunately, you cannot ride your Tenser's Floating Disc. The disc is only 3 feet in diameter, for one thing, and you take up a 5 foot space. Additionally, the rules for riding indicate that the object you are riding must be a size category larger than you unless otherwise noted, which the disc is not.

Although it's a neat idea, I'm afraid you can't do it; so in this case, I will note that your action did not happen, and following any pending actions from Vertexx, we can continue.

I will note, however, that the disc is 5 squares away from you unless you command it to move closer, so at the moment it is still up the stairs behind you.

As Karananak controls his stumble to land on the green tile next to Thalin, a noxious green gas pours from the walls, encompassing the group. The gas seems to be both in front of, and behind you, but it only released for a moment and filled the area quickly, so you are uncertain how long the cloud will remain.

[sblock=Regarding poison gas]The gas will last for a number of rounds. A round, in this instance, will end either when Karananak acts again, or when one other PC has acted twice. At that time, any PC who has not acted will be considered to have ended their turn inside the cloud for that round.

So, were Karananak to act again immediately, all of the other PCs would have ended their turn in the cloud.[/sblock]

[sblock=Mechanics]Poison gas trap attack vs. fortitude:
Thalin - 1d20+6=26 for 10 poison damage
Karananak - 1d20+6=23 for 1d10=10 poison damage
Kaelan - 1d20+6=9 - miss
Colgrave - 1d20+6=17 for 1d10=10 poison damage
354b - 1d20+6=7 - miss[/sblock]

GM: You are on the second step. Are you leaping from the second step, or are you going to step down to the first step first? Leaping from the second step seems unnecessarily dangerous, so I don't want to make that assumption for you.

I just realized that I covered up the verticle axis with fog of war. >< Sorry about that. I'll try to do something about that with the next map update.
