Adventure: Into the Wild

[sblock=Dimsdale]That set of action is impossible; how could you attack the Kraken without moving if you are not in reach? And considering that the Kraken itself (the main body) has threatening reach 3, that you are 2 square away and that he grabs on a successful OA... well, you'll need to be more specific.
[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]
Prior to attack, Max rolled initiative and used his warlord power allowing him to shift at 1/2 his movement speed. Max moved to G1 (see post 853). At that point I assumed that the main body of the Kraken was next to the boat. I'm sorry, but the map is kind of confusing to me. Are you saying that the main body of the Kraken is 2 squares away from the boat or is he right next to the boat. If he's next to the boat then I want the attack to be the same as I posted. If not, please substitute the following attack.

Basic Melee attack on lesser tentacle one square left of H1: 1d20
[/sblock]

Max zeros in on one of the beast's tentacles, swiping at the one next to the stairs to the left of the boat, but is misses badly.

The Krakens large tentacles angrily flay around and snatch up Haruka and Max. It thens throws Max violently accross the ship and he impacts violently against Renquist, sending them both falling to the deck. It also grabs hold of Virgil, Renquist, Nementah and Rocco.

GM: Added 2 dmg to Dante's attack because of Max's power. Nementah, Rocco, Ashir and Renquist will get +2 to dmg against the Kraken on their next turn.

DC to escape Grab of Kraken (haruka): Athletics vs DC 26 or Acrobatics vs DC 22

DC vs lesser tentacles (the others): DC 17

Remember that it's a move action and a success grants a free shift.

[sblock=Action]
Tentacles, vs AC, 1:Haruka 2:Max (1d20+15=16, 2d8+5=12, 1d20+15=35, 2d8+5=13)

AP:
1:Haruka 2:Dante (1d20+15=25, 2d8+5=13, 1d20+15=18, 2d8+5=16)

Yeah, he basically tried to grab everyone who attacked it so far. It's still an animal!

Hit Haruka, miss Dante

Minor
Fling; he throws Max on Renquist
1:Max 2:Renquist vs Fortitude (1d20+13=32, 1d8+5=9, 1d20+13=30, 1d8+5=12)

Both are hit and are prone. There was cover but it still hit.

Lesser tentacles

They are Melee 4; everyone gets targeted once except Haruka (already grabbed) and including Primera (waste of time). 8 tentacles, 8 targets.

Max and Rocco have cover +2 from their respective tentacle.

The lesser tentacle are vs ref while the kraken is AC. I know. What can I say. Wizards of The Coast... ;)

1:Rocco (+2 cover) 2:Max (+2 cover) 3:Ashir 4:Dante 5:Virgil 6:Renquist 7:Nementah (1d20+12=29, 1d20+12=21, 1d20+12=20, 1d20+12=17, 1d20+12=31, 1d20+12=30, 1d20+12=23)

Rocco: 29, hit
Max: 21, miss (thanks to +2 cover; prone penalty vs Melee not taken into acount because of range)
Ashir: 20, miss
Dante: 17, miss
Virgil: 31, hit
Renquist: 30, hit
Nementah: 23, hit

hit = 8 dmg and grabbed

Dante lashes at the tentacles coming for him and Haruka, pinning the tentacle that almost had Haruka to the deck for a second and giving the hexblade time to get out of its way.

He spins to attack the one going for Virgil, but his blade bounces of its rubbery hide.

A jank of the chain sends the kama slashing into the Kraken itself, though Dante isn't able to land both blades into it, though with a shout of encouragement from Max, he manages to inflict a minor wound.

After leaping away, he swings at the two smaller tentacles reaching over the side of the ship, but can't seem to land a solid blow.

OOC: I already added Max's +2 damage to Dante's attack last round.

Haruka is free as I'm using Disruptive Strike to make the attack that hit him miss.

Tactics-wise, I'm thinking burning down the little tentacles is probably the best way to go so we can get someone out to tank the big one.

Edit: Added my MBA that Max grants.

Attack rolls this round: 5, 10, 16, 6, 14, 3, 6 - hopefully I used up most of the group's bad rolls for a while...

[sblock=Actions]OA: MBA vs Tentacle that attacked Virgil: 1d20+13=18 AC, miss.
Immediate Interrupt: Disruptive Strike vs AP attack vs Dante and Haruka: 1d20+13=23 AC vs Kraken, using Heroic Effort +4=27 AC, hit, 2d4+10=14 damage and the Kraken takes a -6 to the attack(making it miss Haruka).

"Everyone, focus on the body, we're not going to do anything unless we cut off the head" Ashir calls out.

[sblock=ooc]
Ashir should be able to take on a whack of the tentacles, with an enlarged Fire Shroud and an enlarge Winged Horde he can hit all of them [/sblock]

[MENTION=87106]MetaVoid[/MENTION], DC 17 Athletics or Acrobatics, see Mal's post above. I'd say you can attack as the spirit is separate from you and not limited to your moves (you don't swing <our hands to attack :D)

Rocco starts his whirling dance, shrugging the tentacle off almost contemptuously, sliding. His usual careless whir seems more controlled this time around, but his attacks are no less dangerous because of that.

[sblock=Actions]
Move: Athletics to get out of the grab (1d20+10=26), shift to G1
Minor: Dancing Defense Stance
Standard: Villain's Menace vs AC; damage (1d20+10=30, 2d6+9+2=22) CRIT for 23 + Extra crit cold damage (1d6=2)"] and Rocco gains +2 to hit and +4 to damage against kraken until the end of encounter. (forgot Max bonus in the roll added to link).

Bonus attack: MBA vs tentacle AC (H0); damage (1d20+10=12, 1d6+9+2=15) - if this isn't possible, then shift one square and gain +2 AC and Ref

[sblock=Ignore if Rocco could not shift to be adjacent to the tentacle]
AP: Sweeping blow vs Kraken; tentacle AC; damage (1d20+12+2=19, 1d20+12=14, 1d6+9+2=14) add 4 more damage to kraken (I think it's one roll for both? If not, tentacle is minion so it dies even without the roll)...

Hit it again Haruka! the warlord shouts, seeing that the hexblade had freed herself from the a tenticle. However, Haruka can't hear Max's call due to all of the noise and chaos of battle.
