Adventure: Into the Wild

[sblock=Rocco]You can't shift 'up'. You merely shift into the wheel square and hang on to it for dear life (which, since you start in front means you were first dragged under water before starting back up ;) ).

You are about at the same height as the deck by now and need a move to embark.[/sblock]

[sblock=Haruka]Reflexive Hellfire is Melee 1, btw.[/sblock]

GM: Dante and Rocco: G1 is the only 'safe' spot you can disembark to after a ride on the wheel with a Move (that we'll consider as a shift to avoid OA). Anywhere else and it's an OA from the kraken.

Since there are two of you and 1 safe spot, it bears thinking about.

The Kraken lashes out again, this time snatching up Max and Ashir while spraying venom messily all over Haruka, blinding her.

No thinking! Act! Dante can take the spot, Rocco will move to E2 or G2 (if [MENTION=87106]MetaVoid[/MENTION] moves Nementah Primera) using Pass Forward which allows me to move around the opponent without OAs.

:D Pfffft! :p

OOC: I was waiting to see where Haruka will be so I can position Primera to grant as much tmp hp as possible. Good job, Mal.

I will put combat actions a bit later, consider those actions delayed until Rocco and Dante move.

Nementah swims toward the boat, calling upon spirits of water to help her get back on the ship. She grabs the wheel spinning up almost wrenching her arm out of socket, but she manages to hang on. As she sees her companions in front of the Kraken she calls again upon the spirits and water spreads over Max wounds washing them away.
"Max, accept the life giving water, the spirits will mend your wounds!"

[sblock=Actions]
Move: Primera goes to F0 above the Kraken and adjacent to Max, Dante and (assuming) Rocco
Swimming (Athletics); Wheel grab (Acrobatics) (1d20+2=18, 1d20+4+4=10) wheel damage (1d10=1) heh!
Minor: Healing spirit surge +4 for Max and Dante (if adjacent, Rocco if not) regainsHealing spirit bonus (1d6=1) hp
All adjacent to Primera get 4 tmp hp

Standard: Haunting spirits vs Will (Kraken); psychic damage (1d20+8+1=26, 1d6+5=8) - kraken grants CA to Rocco

Dante gets his chain wrapped around his leg and can barely get it out of the water to swing at the kraken. To make things worse, it gets caught in the boat wheel and drags Dante into it...

OOC: I'm assuming I can't use Invigorating Stride since I can't end it adjacent to an enemy. If that's not the case and the shift 3 it would give me would let me get up the wheel and not end adjacent to the kraken, then I'll do that for my move action instead so I can Second Wind and get 12 hp and +2 defenses. If I can't do that, I'll use Healing Lore as my minor action to heal myself a surge(12 hp.) Either way, I heal 12hp.

[sblock=Actions]Standard: Twin Strike
*Attack 1: 1d20+13-2(swimming)=13, miss.
*Attack 2: 1d20+13-2(swimming)=16, miss.
Move: To the wheel: Acrobatics 1d20+10=13. Sigh. 2, 5, 3 for rolls. This might be a sign that it's time to retire Dante after this adventure.
Minor: Healing Lore?: Dante heals 12 hp?

Renquist is hauled, slightly bruised, to the deck by the spinning wheel. He lands on the deck in time to see Haruka bathed in slime. Renquist suppresses a smile as he believes he hears expletives and slime sputtering from her mouth. Seeing the effect it is having on her eyes, Renquist mutters a prayer.

"Let Lauto guide you, Dark One."

Then hefting his shield, he charges forward toward the beast.

[sblock=actions]
Minor: Channel Divinity: Divine Mettle: Haruka gains a saving throw at +4.
Standard: Total Defense: +3 defenses (Defensive Longsword)
Move: Move to E1. Draws OA. Which means I'll make it if Mal rolls like I roll. Adding roll to speed up my turn: 1d20+15 → [17,15] = (32) http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2895555/ . Damage:2d8+5 → [4,4,5] = (13) http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2895558/ . Right so hit for 13 and grabbed and in space F3

Max lashes out again at the tentacle. With a correction to his swing in mid strike the blade slices through the tentacle, freeing the warlord.

[sblock=actions]
movement: none
minor:
attack: basic melee attack vs AC tentacle: 1d20+13 for 1d8+9= 20 for 16 which would be a miss. However, Max uses Heroic Effort power giving him +4 to attack roll for an attck roll of 24, which is a hit.

Rocco moves from the wheel and goes over the slick boards swinging mightily. At the last moment, he slips and his axe goes off mark. He straightens up, cursing the beast and his master and the universe in general.

[sblock=Actions]
Move: Pass Forward to E1
Standard: Brash Strike vs Kraken AC; damage (1d20+12+2+2=22, 1d6+12+4=22) - miss, but MARK! even buffed up, I need 8 to hit - Rocco grants CA to the kraken

As the Kraken's tentacle streak towards Ashir, the summoned iron creature nobly leaps in from of the genasi and is entangled in the tentacles.

In response the mage unleashes another, smaller bolt of lightning, but this time the bolt is errant and the Kraken avoids it.

[sblock=ooc]
*Immediate Interrupt - target Iron Cohort instead. (hp for Cohort is 12/25 now)

Minor:
Standard: Arc Lightning on Kraken - vs ref; lightning; more lightning (1d20+12=17, 1d6+13=14, 1d8=7) miss
Move:

Promise of Storms ends

*Planned Immediate Interrupts:

1) If Ashir is hit on his AC/Ref of 4 or less, use Shield to negate the hit.

2) If Ashir is attacked by melee attack from enemy (and it's higher than AC 27), use interrupt to switch target to construct (AC 25).

ooc: You can only spend one AP per encounter, barring special exceptions.

Haruka regains her vision just in time to see Renquist get snatched up by the kraken. A smile flickers across her face as she watches the paladin struggle, "Your god is generous indeed to watch over me. A pity he does not extend such protection to his followers, no?" Her form becomes black liquid and collapses into the similarly colored fluid covering the deck. She then rises from the ink close to the kraken, slashing once more at the beast as she does so. Again, the creature's hide is thick enough to avoid the worst of the attack.

[sblock=actions]Granted Save: 14. Thanks.

Move: Shadow Step to E1, using Renquist as the entrance and the kraken as the exit. Gain concealment from Shadow Walk.
Standard: BDotV the kraken, miss. I get a +5 power bonus to my next damage roll against it before the end of my next turn.

If anything adjacent to me hits me with a melee attack, I'll use Reflexive Hellfire to deal it 10 fire and necrotic damage.

Also, I doubt it will matter, but I'm at 54/65, since I took 5 damage from starting in the ink a few turns ago, but I had 4 thp from Soul Feast. So that did 1, and the last attack did 10.
