Ok Cyansylph It looks easy enough. Especially since an alchemist doesn't have to decipher the formula book first.

And 1 hour to transcribe so two hours total. I just had to make sure about how this works and see if there were to be any changes as this is a Living World.

After you are done I guess the books will go into party treasure to be sold for split GP.

Ok Systole here is what I was thinking...

At first I was thinking of these elven barbarian tribes being located where the red circle is. But that is pretty far. So I looked and thought the area with the blue circle would work as well.

It also works a little better due to it's closeness to The Harran (our resident elven nation). Some of these elven tribes might work along with Harran (some might not) and just be an "unoffical" extention.

Some may see the way of The Harran harsh and unrealistic, I'm not sure but all in all they live not as a nation but of lose tribes that all have only their race in common.

The area in question works well with your Highlanders trait and isn't so far off that you have explored as of yet unexplored territory. That is what the orange and brown lines are - possible routes your character could have took to get to Venza.

So for a change for your character all you need do is say he came from the highlands to the east. Simply no need to flesh this out until you wish for more to be known about your character background.

I was thinking either of the purple areas. The western one in particular would be a pretty reasonable boat ride to the main city -- I imagine there's plenty of trade up and down the coast. Or he could have just followed caravans along the coastal roads.

I'd prefer to keep his homeland away from Harran. Daylily's elves have been completely cut off from any sort of elvish civilization for centuries, at the very least. The only holdovers they have from that time are their ancient heroic names, like Daylily, Brightleaf, Foxwhisper, Whitebow, etc.

I had some free time at work this morning so I wrote up a few paragraphs. I can probably finish it this weekend. I'll post what I have so far.

Alright then. Those would work as Highlands too. And the western one can still go with your long boat trip taken to get to Venza.

In other news I think a couple people are putting together LvL 1 adventures so waiting won't be to long (I hope).

'Reasonable boat ride' LOL That's well over 4,000 miles. I'm sure it still happens, though, and with a fair amount of regularity.

In all honesty, I think I would prefer to remain with Systole's original plan and have his elf from the western continent. The distance would be extreme, yes, but the style of elf that he presents and the culture that he assumes for his elf seems vastly different than that presented for LPF. The big question I have is: why are they barbarians if there are elf-gates to the Other World where the flower of elven culture resides? Just doesn't seem likely to me.

On the other hand... perhaps, during the golden age of E'n, the elves discovered that the western continent did not have elves or elf-gates to the Other World and so great heroes of the elven race boarded majestic swan ships and sailed westward to discover why. Then, with tragically poor timing, the Fall of Night and the Years of Darkness came and the mighty expeditions were stranded, cut off and under constant seige from dark forces so that they lost the refined veneer of their culture.

Anyway, just something to think about (though something of this scope should probably be discussed in the social group since many people may not check or read this section of the forums).

EDIT: Just noticed you started a new thread in the social group for this discussion. Reposted there.

Yeah sorry GE just needed to be able to post the map.

Good stuff linking all that in. There could also not be any Outer World gates in those southern mountains (not typical elven terrain). Really I thought he meant the small island between the two larger land mass (which I believe Mowgli wishes to develop).

SelcSilverhand if you get a minute do you think you could add a Living Pathfinder tag to this thread. Thanks in Advance.

Ok here is the picture (with what I think are the names of places added) that I found on the wiki but can't find it's page.
