Jayce moves to the east, shouting a quick order to Jasper, "Jasper, get behind me so I'm between you and the fort."

The marshal keeps an eye out for any signs of an ambush.

"Hilkalas, if your troops were out of your base and all you had were bows when the enemy showed up, what would you do?"

"Fire at will from within the base of course, I would never risk to get outside. That's why I suggested to storm the fortress." The marshal replied.

GM: Note: I have zoomed out on the map for now so that everyone gets a feel for it. For future posts, I will zoom back in and/or create multiple maps. In the meantime, I will post in the sblock PCs current square so that you can figure out exactly where you want to move.

Also SoM, could you please post the four square your horse is in instead of posting a single square to move to?

"I don't think two archers can hurt us much if we hurry." Tana says, stepping off the road so she could get better footing.

Trying to keep up with the rest of the group, Sirrah steadily moves his steed ahead, guarding himself from attack.

Two of the bandits fire arrows at Sirrah's horse, but their aim seems off in the rain. Two more bandits show up on the cliff tops. They set off some type of trap and a small mountain of rubble drops onto the trail on both sides of the small valley.

Trapped!

Terrain: The entire area is wet from the rain.

The road is difficult terrain due to mud. The rest of the area is wet, but it doesn't affect movement.

Cliffs: The entire area is surrounded by wet, extremely hard to climb cliffs that go up for at least 50 feet. The trail is right next to the cliffs on the right and left hand sides of the map.

Outpost: The interior of the outpost cannot be seen, just the walls. In the front of the outpost is a large wooden gate.

Rubble: Although climbable, the rubble is both difficult terrain and has the normal climb penalties.

OOC: Rats, lost my chance to use Battlefront shift. Alright, trying this now...

"The fiends!" The marshal curses. "Marshal Jayce, do you think you can make it to the fort?" The marshal asked. Jayce knew he would have more agility if he takes his advice.

OOC: I'm offering Knight's move, giving you an additional move action for free by spending mine.

OOC: I still think it's a bad idea, though I don't know how highly Sirrah values his horse (which I can't see how to get over the rubble in any reasonable amount of time) ...

OOC: What can I do to try to breach the fort door? Can I try to break through by charging it with my lance?

OOC: Not likely. Outpost doors, even wooden ones, are designed to take massive amounts of damage before breaking.

The walls are about 20 feet tall (with the bandits standing on a surface about 15 feet tall and firing over the wall), so it could be climbed over. It would just take some time to get there and get over.
