Both Rava and Hilkalas double move forward (To R 10 and Q10).
Question, how will you handle Beguiling strands on this situation? I intend to use it on the bandits and push them off the battlements. It is a blast 5 power, and pushes 4.

GM: Just like always. Note, however.

1) The battlements prevent forced movement outside of the outpost. So you cannot push or pull an NPC out of the fort.

2) Forced movement is limited to line of effect. To figure this out, it's the same as figuring out line of effect around a corner (except turned 90 degrees):

Rows S and T. Row V cannot be seen (except on the sides, V12, and V23). So if Hilkalas is in Row S or T using a close blast 5, he cannot push.

Rows Q and R. Row U and V can be seen. Row W cannot be seen. So, push of one square allowed.

Row P. Row U, V, and W can be seen. Row X cannot be seen. So, push of two squares allowed.

Jayce moves down further toward the keep. He smoothly replaces the hand crossbow with his hand axe. Unfortunately, he is no more successful as the axe hits the stone wall as well.

"Marshal Hilkalas! Can you knock them off the battlement?"


Sirrah readies his bow and nocks an arrow. Uttering a war chant to his ancestors, he lets the shaft fly towards the bandit on the wall.

Tana moves closer to the castle and throws her sword at Bandit 5.


Jasper continues his mad dash for cover by the one wall.


The first bandit takes advantage of how close Hilkalas and Rava are to each other. He lets loose multiple arrows at the pair. The first arrow takes Hilkalas in the shoulder, but the arrows miss Rava.

The second bandit comes around the parapets and tries the same tactic. He slams Hilkalas in the chest with an arrow, but he too misses Rava. Hilkalas starts coughing up blood.

The third bandit must know a safe way down the cliff side. He quickly travels down closer and tries the same tactic, but the distance is too much and his arrows miss both Hilkalas and Rava.

The fourth bandit also heads down the cliff side. He takes careful aim and shoots the unmoving Sirrah in the thigh.

The final bandit tries to take advantage of Hilkalas' condition and blasts at him with a black bolt of energy, but it just misses Hilkalas.

Terrain: The entire area is wet from the rain.

The road is difficult terrain due to mud. The rest of the area is wet, but it doesn't affect movement.

Cliffs: The entire area is surrounded by wet, extremely hard to climb cliffs that go up for at least 50 feet. The trail is right next to the cliffs on the right and left hand sides of the map.

Outpost: The interior of the outpost cannot be seen, just the walls. In the front of the outpost is a large wooden gate. The bandits on the walls have a cover bonus to all defenses.

Rubble: Although climbable, the rubble is both difficult terrain and has the normal climb penalties.

Sirrah grunts as the arrow his his leg, but ignores the pain. Without a good shot, he stows his bow, taking a moment to catch his breath while working at removing the rest of the alchemical substance. He separates himself from his mount in preparation to scale the wall.

Tana closes to within five squares of her intended target, then throws her sword again. Despite the reduced range, her accuracy wasn't as good.

Rava lifts her hand and the arrow that impacted Hilkalas is dampened. She then calls for the favour of her god and heals Hilkalas' wounds, before putting a holy bane on one of the archers.
Hilkalas rips the arrow from his chest. "Good work, now stay back!" he shouts to Rava, as he advances and blasts the archers with his arcane illusion, managing to hit only one of them, hopefully throwing him off the parapet.

Rava uses Shield of Devotion encounter reaction to heal Hilkalas 6 and gain +2 to her next attack. She uss Healing word (minor) on Hilkalas, bringing him up to full health again: Healing roll. Lastly she uses Bane on B5, attack vs will of 15, if hit, -5 to attack and defenses UENT. Can't see the other bandits, where is bandit 2 and 3? If they hit Hilkalas he should see them. Move to P 14: Beguiling strands vs B1 and B5: hits only B1 (unless a 11 hits if Rava hit it with Bane) for 6 damage and is pushed 2 backwards
