D&D 5E D&D Events at GenCon

So wizards posted a page with an expectation of what they are doing at GenCon.

At they bottom they have a daily seminar where they will answer questions about Next and walk through character creation.

Honestly, you could probably make an argument supporting or opposing a GenCon release based on this info. It sounds like to me, however, that it may be unlikely that there will be a GenCon release.

You are right it could go either way. Damn them.

At least if it isn't releasing at Gencon it looks like it will be shortly there after, but I will say we will have a Gencon release.

The more info we get the more ambiguous it seems. It's all part of the plan.

Just had this conversation on Twitter.

(Addendum: It is of course WotC's prerogative to make any such decisions about release date. That said, we do know that SOME form of "final" D&DN content will be out by GenCon - we just have no idea whether it's the starter set, Tyranny of Dragons, the PHB, or all of the above.)

I hope, when the gen con event schedule is released tonight, that we get something more substantive on these adventures. In particular, I would like to know if they serve to kick off a new organized play campaign. Right now, I don't see anything that is going to woo me away from Pathfinder. At best, I'll play both and PF will win any conflicting time slots.

Sounds to me like it's not going to be released then. My reasoning is that it says "Discuss the upcoming D&D edition". If this is at gencon and it says upcoming that seems to imply that it won't be out then. I hope I'm wrong though .

That was my initial reaction too, but then I thought maybe the Tyranny of Dragons will be released but the PH, DMG, and MM would be later.

When I look at that list of events all tied together in the Moonsea, I think Sundering V scavenged for parts.

A module probably tied to Pools of Radiance.
