Thaumaturge
Wandering. Not lost. (He/they)
Gosh, I'm happy people aren't bandying about the dreaded g-word here.
Why would we talk about gaz...err...stand-alone backyard porches? Are there grues?

I can't stand those vulgar cockneys. I speak pure Dickensian English!

I wish there was a dex based fighter/mage build. But it looks like both EK and the bard variant get heavier armor and encourage high strength builds.
Maybe the sword pact warlock will be able to cast and attack at the same time, while wearing light armor.
It was underpowered but I loved the bladesinger class from 4e, and the spellblade class too. It all stems from the complete book of elves and me power gaming the bladesinger kit, good times and fond memories.
To me the G word is a way of life. I even like the elf race/class from basic D&D that is the O.G.
Any fighter can be Dex-based. Just put on light (or medium, even) armor and pick up a finesse weapon, and you're golden!
Sure, but then class features and sub class features like medium and heavy armor proficiency seem like wastes.
If they could trade in that medium armor prof for the warrior bard into something that would be nice.
Give me a free parry or a +1 AC in light armor, something that encourages me to play a finesse based character, because without that might as well go heavy armor and high strength and use a two-handed weapon will do more damage and have a higher AC that way. More than likely, still need to see the final PHB, to me as much as I want to play a finesse based fighter/mage if the numbers make a strength one more attractive numbers win over my desire to be finesse.
