Some are obvious, others are not at all or have never been detailed. There's a fairly complete list of the Roll of Years but for the most part they're just flavour meant to spur DMs to create events to fit the names.

Didn't Wd Greenwood come up with a list waaaaay out into the "future" in the 80's? Wouldn't surprise me if the Scarlet Witch epitaph started as a Marvel tribute, though.
