D&D 5E [IC] Creamsteak's Princes of Elemental Evil

Carradoc is amazed at the misshapen creature before him, and fires a chilling blast before hiding behind the stone table that he sees.

(OOC not sure what the thing is at AB6, but he'll try to get to AB5 after striking:
[roll0], if a hid damage = [roll1].)

Carradoc misses the behemoth. Thaliss obscures his position. Dent, I'm unsure of his movement. Carradoc can't get that far unless his movement is 40 ft?

Nope -- movement is 30 == I just didn't know where he'd landed after his flying leap. From where he is on the map -- heh. Let's try Z 12, with a bit of rash foolishness.

Dent nodded a greeting at Carradoc, then at Thaliss. "Looks like we have our work cut out for us."

[sblock=OOC]EDIT: Reaction: Fighting Style (protection) first ally within 5' of Dent who suffers an attack from the creature.

We're still in Round 1, I know, but I want to clarify a little. Dent said he backed up to AC14, but I'm ok with where you put him on the map so long as anyone firing a ranged weapon from up top has line of sight to the monster. (The only reason I had Dent move to AC14 was that I thought the hole was by the stairs and I was trying to lure the ankeg-y monstrosity closer to the hole so others could peg it.) Where you have Dent is fine with me, especially since he's well-positioned to protect Carradoc and Thaliss.[/sblock]

Aridha didn't know what the thing was, but she knew trouble when she saw it. Though caution had prevailed before, she wasn't leaving the others down there to fight alone...and this thing was far too large for her magic to manhandle from a distance.

She went to the wall and vaulted over the side...transforming as she did into the enormous spidery monster who's form she'd taken once before. It easily clung to the wall of the chamber instead of plummeting below, and while she skittered forward, most of her attention was on another action entirely.

Her far back legs dipped up and made a complex movement, weaving silk from spinnerets into a globby, sticky wad. It was a simple matter then to fling that ball of webbing at the creature in hopes of slowing it down long enough to get down and help!

(Move to T14 and wildshape to spider, then finish move to T12 along wall and attack with Web. [roll0] to hit; on hit the target is Restrained (meaning it can't move, and attackers have advantage) until it succeeds a DC12 Str check to break free.)

Tolan stays up above, his elven eyes penetrating the darkness below. He draws his bow and fires down at the creature menacing his allies.

OOC: Action: Shooting the hulk.

attack - [roll0]
advantage - [roll1] (if applicable)
damage - [roll2]

Aridha ensnares the monster. Tolan lands a hit.

The creature breaks its restraint and shambles forward.

It now is within reach of Dent and Aridha.

[sblock=Aridha]Something is horribly off about this creature. Normally this thing would have an otherworldly gaze, but the brutal injuries to its eyes have left it almost blind and the grafted metal parts added to its claws prevent it from having its normal tunneling ability. Most likely the claws and injuries hurt the creature greatly at all times. This seems to make it all the more like a cornered animal driven to fight to the death.[/sblock]

OOC: Ha ha ha -- until the last sentence, I was hopeful for a minute there! Did Carradoc get to Z12? (post 1273). That will affect his next move.

Thaliss focuses his mind and releases a blast of force towards the creature.

OOC:
Move: none
Action: cast Eldrich blast on the creature
attack [roll0]
attack with advantage [roll1]
Force damage[roll2]
Necrotic Damage[roll3]

Note: the creature is hexed (disadv. to str checks)

HP: 35/35
AC: 17
Spell slots remaining: 0/2 sorcerer (level 1), 2/2 warlock (level 2)

Concentrating on Hex.

Dent ducked as a crossbow quarrel zinged from overhead. He stepped forward and swung at the hulk, but did not attempt to shove it prone. Bigger target for whoever's up there shooting. Hopefully not at me? Dent spared a backward glance to ascertain his worry was incorrect.

[sblock=OOC]Move: to AA12
Action: Attack with longsword [roll0] for [roll1] damage
Bonus Action: None
Reaction: Fighting Style (protection) Carradoc

hp 33/44
AC 21[/sblock]
