EXTRA LIFE: D&D For Childen's Charity

WotC is involved in an annual event called Extra Life - it's a charity for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, and WotC staff raises money for the charity by playing D&D for lots... of... hours. 48 of them! All live-streamed, so you can watch their bleary, weary faces as they slay orcs and dragons for charity! Last year, they raised $85,000; this year, they're aiming for $100,000.

The Extra Life Tabletop Appreciation Weekend runs from Friday 2nd October to Sunday 4th October. WotC is joining up with Fantasy Grounds, WizKids, Gale Force 9, and OneBookhelf, and rotating through 12 DMs and a pile of players. Each DM will run their own adventure, though it will be part of a larger connected campaign.

You'll be able to watch it here.

If you visit the D&D team's Extra Life page, you can start sponsoring members right now, as some have already started raising funds. You can even join the D&D team yourself, and if you raise $50 or more, you'll get a D&D Adventurer's League certificate.

Also last year, the team previewed a bunch of upcoming material from the Dungeon Master's Guide. It sounds like they'll be doing something similar this year.
