No, but teachers don't get paid for grading papers either Besides, I would just rehash stuff I already have

You'd be surprised how many people approach you and offer to pay at this rate or more if you DM in public play settings, especially if they like what you're doing if they've played with you a couple times running AL at your FLGS.

I've accepted pay to organize tables at non-gaming-related conventions, work retreats, corporate team-building exercises, etc. Put yourself out there!

There's plenty of opportunities. This one's paying up to $45 per hour.

Interesting, pay is based on the number of participants. Now, when one of your players skips the weekly game, it hits you in the wallet!

Definitely something you have to negotiate upfront (if you have the opportunity to do so). It's been my experience that the best way to go about it is to work with groups that simply can't find a Dungeon Master.
