Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

My mini painting and terrain crafting is proudly "table-ready." I know my skill level is never going to get past a certain level (though occasionally I accidentally do something that looks better than my typical work) but my philosophy I'd rather have a ton of mediocre "good enough" paint jobs on my minis than a pile of unpainted ones.
Table ready is my goal, mostly.

Aw, man. From Warzone, if they have a Dark Legion Bio-Giant, let me know. This was the first large miniature I painted back in 1997 or 1998 and I traded it away. I wish I still had it.

I can say 99.9% for sure that they don't - the few pieces of C/W stuff they have left is all generic troops as far as I remember, but I'm headed there this weekend so I'll dig through just to check...
(Always happy to headhunt stuff for people - the Citadel has been my FLGS for over 30 years and any chance I can get to give them money...)

The quality of this work is why I don't post mine..... Between dungeons and lasers, bones, and another KS, I must have around three to five hundred unpainted things. On the plus side, a friend is a great painter, so he does some of the more complex items, and encourages me to paint occasionally....

Pffft... I was painting minis for 10 years before I started shading and highlighting them - most of my early work looks like it was colored in with crayons by a five-year-old with the sugar shakes... :p

The only way you improve is by painting more...
My minis don't look good these days cuz I've got talent or good hands - they look like they do because of 35 years of practice.

Basically how I look at the stuff I've painted compared to what others have done. lol

I'm almost done with this. The turret is finished but I'm working on the two crewman. Once completed, I'll put all the parts together and call it done.

"Minitatures"? Clearly someone's budget was spent on something other than hiring editors...

"Paint Day" this Saturday at the Citadel Game Cellar in Groton, CT...
The New England Miniature Painters Association* has been putting together these Paint Days at the Citadel off and on for over a decade now, all the way back to 2007. We got together every month or two, sometimes at different FLGSs, for a couple years then restarted back in 2014...

* All the cool kids had a name, so we decided we should have one too, lol. And that's officially about as official as we get...

(Technically, we blatantly ripped it off from the C(olorado)MPA, but who cares...)
