I am not great at all of this. But I am stubborn.
I bought 3 packs of goblins wolf riders. But the goblins are heroic scale and i have mostly DnD minis.
So I am sawing them in half and sawing wizkids goblins in half and am gluing the halves.
It a little messy. I have green stuff but yeah…
Cutting wolves off attacked bases. Carefully. And plan to glue to clear plastic bases. I have only just started but lots of money later…
We will see how it goes. Not professionally is an apt descriptor so far!!!

Your first couple will be bad, but if you do the same modifications more than three times, you'll have figured out most of what-not-to-do-and-how-not-to-do-it by then.

No, they assist Inquisitors, Grey Knights and "Nuns with Guns", usually. They count as Tempestus Scions so they are a notch above regular guardsmen.

I've finished this model three times. The first one are base colors using Army Painter Speed Paints, the second includes a wash of red/brown oil, and finally I've applied some layers of Green Stuff World coagulated blood. I'm thrilled about how gross and wet it looks now. But when is done, done? For a board game, I'm pretty happy with the first one. It's nothing special, but it'll get the job done. I like the color of the second version, it's a little nicer, and i like the third version the most. But none of them are any more functional than the original paint job.
It's not always easy to know when you're done, but remember you're the one who gets to decide when you're done. Spending a few more hours on a miniature might make it look better, but maybe you've got better things to do.
