I haven't tried a Pre-Raphaelite style before, but you can get some excellent results. Based on the experiments below, I recommend carefully considering the composition and colour palette. Stating that you want a strong canvas texture also produces some nice effects

I've had fun results with Pre-raphaelite and Pointillist, and Rembrandt styles.
