okay so it was just a trap using Susan's name and funny that despite all of the wild theories across the net Ruby's birth mom was just an ordinary person and who the heck is Mrs. Flood?

Stayed up past midnight to watch it. I'm so tired...

So...

The Ruby/mum reunion was positively emotional. I'm not usually susceptible to these things, but RTD knows how to tug a heart string. That scene in the coffee shop worked.

Attaching Sutekh to a magic rope and dragging him through the time vortex because death cancels out death and makes life was... OK, RTD's other side. Also what was the whistle laser thing? I mean, really? What was that whistle laster thing? I kept feeling I'd missed something I was supposed to know. Also I kept thinking it was K9 about to pop out.

Mrs Flood is still a mystery. Still keeps talking to camera and breaking the 4th wall. Interesting she was wearing Clara's clothes and referred to the Doctor as a 'clever boy'.

We know Ruby is back next year. Along with the new companion.

I think this was typical RTD--big on emotion (and great at that) but the deus ex machine resolution logic always makes you squint. Sure, magic rope drags Sutkeh through time and cancels out death then he burns up for some reason. Why not? It's not like the TARDIS didn't drag Earth across the galaxy once.

Do we know if she's back in a recurring role, or if it's more of a guest star thing (like Mel in the finale, or when Martha showed up in Torchwood)?

Oh, and I liked that they gave Ruby a clean (?) exit. No need to go "Well that's all right then!" there.

Didn’t exactly make sense. Did put tears in my eyes at one point. It made the season far less ambitious in the end, but also fairly satisfying.

Not bad after last weeks lackluster penultimate episode.

my favourite scene was Mel finding a pink ribbon on the MemoryTardis

the women who forgot her baby had died was a sad scene

bringing death to death brings life was some strange logic, and the Doctor describing himself as Life v Sutekhs Death was interesting

I liked that Ruby's mother turned out to be ordinary and that ordinariness being called out as significant

and who is Mrs Flood?!- I did wonder last week if she was the new form of the Master/Missy, but she seems to be even more mysterious than that...

Ummmm. yeah, this. Pretty much nailed it @Morrus.

I liked it... I think? It was certainly not the finale I was expecting. And, @Tonguez - I totally agree. The whole "being ordinary is significant" thing was very cool.
