D&D 5E Solasta 2 Announced!!!

As much as I enjoyed the first version, this is a big step up. It's not going to be at the same level as BG 3, personally I don't really want it to be. It's good to see that they've been able to build upon the success of the first game. It might be kind of nice if they were officially licensed and used more than just the basic rules, but I wouldn't be surprised if the cost/benefit analysis doesn't work in their favor if WOTC was even interested.
I don't need BG3 either. The first game though... I can't think of another CRPG that had that amateurish an attempt at story or dialogue. Wow. It's a testament to how incredible the combat system was that: a) I finished the first game b) am champing at the bit to buy the second one!

I play a lot of mods for some other games so for example I'm playing Fallout London right now (although it probably has better dialog than Solasta 1 did). Maybe my tolerance is a bit lower than some people's.

I much prefer a game to have a great story and dialogue, but we're not going to get that every time. So I'll play games where those components are a little B-tier, no problem. The original Solasta though... it's like they grabbed a pack of 11 year olds, paid them in Doritos and ice cream sandwiches, then told them to whip up a story around this all-world combat engine.

If there is a game out there with more painful dialogue and a weaker story, I would love to hear what it is, just out of morbid curiosity...

I bet Wild Elves get changed to Sylvan Elves to better fit Solasta's lore, and they have modify Dwarves and Halflings to add in somekind of subraces back in (for their lore).

Maybe, or perhaps they'll just have different background options? Species doesn't matter as much for those races any more.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with Goliaths, Drow, Rock Gnomes, and the new Tiefling lineages lore wise.

If they even include the them at all.
