When I was 32 I was talking to a woman in a store and I made a comment about something from the 80's. She was like, "You aren't old enough to remember that." When I told her my age, her demeanor changed completely. She stared at me intently and said, "What's your secret! You have to tell me!" I thought she was going to cut me open to find out.
I am going to be 55 in a couple of months. I have had a couple instances where I have told someone my real age, much to their surprise. When I asked them about how old I am, they're usually off by 10 years. :p Genetics is a thing! :p It also helps that I had avoided certain super-stressful things over the years.
At the age of 40, I got carded for a movie. I wasn't certain whether to be thankful or annoyed.
In your position, I probably would also be amused because of the other person missing their Perception checks by so much. ;)

“The Day They Set The Trees On Fire”
Kids will be kids. You'd never get away with that these days without some severe penalties.
Took me a second to get it, PBR will do that, but that was funny, like Indiana Jones. Eberron is all Neo-Noir while Warhammer is I'll smash them with my Warhammer. I'm just guessing, I've never played Warhammer in my life. I turned 50 yesterday, am I missing out? I like the concept of mass combat for TTRPG once in a while, but too much time to assemble and paint nowadays. We did a campaign where an undead army wiped out 3/4 of Faerun. We started a session knowing we were going into battle and it was tense. We didnt have any rules we just made them up. Ranks of Skeleton Warriors IIRC. It was a lot of fun. That was the same campaign my buddy punched an Avatar on the nose with a nat 20. DM says you can do whatever you want for one round...he makes it rain gold over Waterdeep
