These last two weeks I learned about scissor flats. Apartments that exist in more than one floor in the building in a spiral arrangement. One appartment starts down and moves up, and the other starts up and moved down. They have a lot of benefits as they allow windows to both sides of the building, reduce the amount of corridors and allow for cheaper elevators (because they stop on half the levels)
They are also a nightmare for people with mobility limitations to live in, and a death trap for firefighters.
I also learned that powdered milk commonly uses soy lecitin as an additive because it allows it to dissolve instantly. And well, there are next to no brands of powdered milk that are soy free.
Finally, that it is possible to make your own powdered milk at home, so that it can be soy free .
