So, it's finished. It wasn't great, and I don't know if it will get another season. I did like Sean Bean as the Sheriff.

Weirdly, Amazon has two separate Robin Hood shows called Robin Hood -- the BBC one from about 10 years ago, and this one -- with fairly similar thumbnails and aesthetics. Almost every time I go into the wrong one before having to back out and find the current one.

Interesting I’ve not seen the BBC one until now it’s not on my list of options in U.S. but yes those thumbnails are very similar.

I’m a bit dubious about how openly Pagan these Saxons are, given that they were officially Christian for a couple of hundred years before the Norman conquest. I’m sure there were people still worshipping the Aesir, especially in the former Danelaw, but not widespread and openly.
Only just getting to this show now, and that was my first thought, too. Maybe this is an alternate history where Alfred never Christianized the Saxons?

On that note, Bernard Cornwell's Saxon series is about exactly that (Alfred uniting and Christianizing the Saxons). I understand there's a show of that, too, but I haven't seen it. (As an aside, Sean Bean was the lead role in the TV adaptation of Cornwell's even bigger Sharpe series. Pretty sure he survived to the end of that one!)

Only two episodes in so far, but I'm mostly enjoying it. Agree that Jack Patten is a bit of a wet blanket.

EDIT: I note that both Ralph and Marian are left-handed. Yet another historically inaccurate liberty this show is taking!
