I feel like this is something that might be blameable on Game of Thrones.
It's like every show now needs fifteen main characters, each with their own plot threads. Last Episode was all about Max with just a dash of Lucy and Ghoul, and then next week we're going to go back to the Vault and maybe Lucy's dad after not seeing anything from them the previous week and it just kills a lot of the momentum.
This is fine and all, because when it's done well and you start to see the plotlines converge, and the threads start to tie together it makes for very satisfying TV. But I feel like it also makes it harder to get bought into the show.
I was sick recently, and rewatched Band of Brothers, as is tradition, and the pacing was just so good. Every episode focused on Easy Company as a whole, with like small b-plots focusing on an individual character each episode. Then in second half of the series when they do episodes like e6: Bastogne focusing on Eugene, and e7: The Breaking Point focusing on Lipton, it feels really special. You already feel attached to all the characters, and getting these little vignettes into their experiences it's all the more meaningful.
Conversely, if you're enjoying the Brotherhood of Steel storyline, you might be let down if they push that back to being the C-plot for the episode to catch up on the Vault Dwellers, and Lucy/Ghoul. Or if they keep front lining Max, and you were hoping to see something else, same deal.
Sitting through the slow burn to wait for the payoff gets a little old, I think.

The mystery this season isn't as compelling as the one last season, and the juggling act they're trying to do between creating a more general mystery for non-gamer viewers and a "what happened after the events of the game" mystery for Fallout New Vegas players is maybe a tougher line to walk in this case. Plus the shock value's worn off.
I'm still enjoying it, but I had to be reminded it was on this week.

Lucy's plotline is fun so far. I'm enjoying the moral conflicts she's facing. It's going to be interesting to see how she handles things. I can see her potentially, and reluctantly, buying into her father's plans and going with the "Greater Good" reasoning.
I enjoy getting a taste of the pre-bomb era universe, but I feel like we're wasting time on these flash-back scenes. So little is progressing in the other plots in comparison.
