What Do You Think Of As "Modern TTRPG Mechanics"?

What I do think is fairly modern is a clear set of statements of how to best be a player and a GM such that the game is successful in realizing what the designers intended it to do, and also telling you what it intends to do during play.

Like say, D&D 4e has bits of this and I’m sure if you back through time you can find some scattered around, but that doesn’t quite compare to how very recent games enumerate player & GM best practices within the confines with clarity and intention.
