Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

The journey continues. I thought it'd be fun to tackle the hair and there's so much of it this is what the bulk of my time was spent on tonight. I've had mixed success with light colored leather, but I decided to give it a shot for her arms and I'm pretty happy with the results. I might put down one more layer of brown wash to dirty it down a little but I'm not sure I want to take the chance of messing it up. I'm thinking I'll start on the face tomorrow.

Si when you drubrush whit on black primer ive been using a free turn white.
Prepping some for speed paint test.

One guy who showed me basically uses a lot and theyre pale Grey head to toe.

Another showed me r layers dry brush last two are highlighted mostly.

Ones kind of dark Grey the others more very pale Grey all over.

I know speedpainting on glossy white gives you a bright result if you want bright or tesserect green type colour.

Any advice?

If you want to get really fancy with speed paints you can do the following.
1. Prime black
2. Base coat with a darker gray over the whole model
3. Dry bush with a lighter gray covering a good amount of the base coat.
4. Dry brush with the lightest gray or even white just getting the edges of the model.
5. Use your speed paints.

That was his advice. I think I need to use more step 3.

Ive been buying clearance sales. 4 for $3 or 3 for $5.50. Italia and Humbol. Most are fine.
