Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

It wasn't as good as 4 or 5, IMO, as it lacked the showcase pieces, but that's a high bar, esepcially as I think Bones 5 is the high water mark of the Golden Age of Miniatures and not likely to be matched any time soon. I also fear that Bones 6 will be the last Bones KS for awhile, as tariffs and supply chain issues have really done a number on the industry, so I am glad that I backed it.
I have mixed feelings about missing those Kickstarters. I've ended up buying a few of the models as they became available sometimes years later. Some of them are really, really cool. But then I have enough unpainted miniatures as it is.

Th brown mini is a clay golem from Reaper but the others are of unknown origins.

Those are both from Blacklist Games Fantasy Series 1 Stretch Goals. What's the quality on them? They look pretty good in these photos and the price on that set is ridiculously low. But your painting can make anything look class.

For the $42 it cost for the full set from Amazon, the quality is pretty good for .32 cents a model. They're not great miniatures, some of the wolves have some pretty big gaps in them for some reason, but they're better than many of the early Bones minis from when they first started. I was half sure the ogre with the club was actually a Reaper mini, so I went to check their website just to make sure it wasn't a recast. It's a good value.

It's probably a great set to recommend for folks just starting out. I just looked at the smaller miniatures and the detail is not great, but that can be a positive when you are learning to paint, and you get something like 140 miniatures in the stretch goal set. That's plenty to learn on, and plenty to build a campaign around, if you've been itching to use miniatures.
