    Brainiac Attacks

DESPAIR! Although... the Talk page on the article says it's a hoax.

    OK, Conan pretty much ROCKS

Ron Perlman as Conan is a great idea. I actually prefer animation to live action for these kinds of stories, as long as the budget is high enough for a sufficient level of realism, because you can get away with so much more in terms of FX without looking cheesy.

    anime movies

Ugh. Vampire Hunter D was one of the first anime I saw, along with Odin: Photon Space Sailor Starlight. Together the two turned me off of anime for more than a decade. I would like to see the recent sequel, though.

Legendary Artist Tim Hildebrandt Has Passed Away

My earliest exposure to Tolkien was a '77 Hildebrandt calendar my parents owned. This is disheartening.

Almost anything from Studio Ghibli is worth watching, including: Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind Spirited Away My Neighbor Totoro Princess Mononoke Only Yesterday -- probably my favorite animated film

    Current Favorites (again)

Actually... regarding Hayashibara, I remember she had a guest bit in several episodes of Mobile Police Patlabor. I didn't get a really good feel for her voice, though, so I can't judge on that basis. Up until recently I was limited to watching dubbed anime on TV. Regarding Cowboy Bebop and The...

Hayashibara's pretty good in it. It's the only thing I've heard her in*, but she's much more convincing at getting across the "boy-in-girl's-body" thing and emulating Yamaguchi's mannerisms than her English counterpart. *Other than Evangelion, and I don't know that reading lines in a bland...

Kappei Yamaguchi, right? I liked him as Ranma Saotome (who was also voiced by Richard Cox, oddly enough), but I haven't heard him in Inuyasha yet.

    Fantastic Four 2

Never said there was anything wrong with it. I just like a little variety, that's all.

    Fantastic Four 2

Exactly. They're the Challengers of the Unknown with super-powers. I'm skeptical about FF2, but I like the idea of having other super-heroes in the movie. Most super-hero movies are about solo heroes existing in a vacuum, and it's nice to see a break from that.

Oh God Yes. I've seen the first two episodes and can't wait to see where it goes from there. The first episode had me in stitches. And Kyou has got to be the best seinen lead ever. "...Wait, you're going to show this to the public?!" I'm a little past the middle of Fruits Basket. It's probably...

    Cast the iconic D&D characters

I can see Vin Diesel as either Krusk or Regdar. Btw, you forgot Eberk, the dwarf cleric. (And Meepo.)

    "52" weekly discussion (Week 2)

I've been hearing rumors that the Booster Gold who came back in Infinite Crisis isn't the same Booster as the one who left at the end of The OMAC Project. Like from another future timeline or something. That's just fan-speculation, though.

    Gathering the MM4 Monster List

Yet again, WotC shows that they can't come up with monster names except by combining two mundane words, typically ones that would sound evocative to a puerile 15-year-old. I wonder how much longer it'll be before we get the "Slaughterslayer Splatterspawn."

Smallville - 2006.05.11 Season Ender (Spoliers Wecome)

When the heck did that happen? I read Crisis, and nowhere did I see anything of the sort. Anyway, the only time the modern Superman took anyone's life was in the case of the three Pocket Universe/Phantom Zone criminals post-Crisis -- and IIRC, he had a total mental breakdown due to massive...

    Infinite Crisis - The Aftermath

No, they'd have the Global Guardians react first, then request aid from other countries' super-teams ASAP. There's just more paperwork involved now, I guess. Besides, no super-villains in the DCU attack anything other than major American cities, anyway.

    Infinite Crisis - The Aftermath

Eh, I liked it. Only thing that really bugged me was Kal-L going down so quickly. One thing that hasn't come up in this thread but about which I've heard a lot of people complain elsewhere -- I'm glad they let Superboy-Prime live. Not because I particularly like him as a character, but because...

    Infinite Crisis - The Aftermath
