Fantastic Four 2

Actually, I kinda like it. Not as impressive as Spider-Man or X-Men but it is an entertaining sleeper hit. Although I am skeptical that featuring Silver Surfer in the sequel is a bit over the top. While it is true to the comic book, some things just aren't ready for the big screen -- as well as the mainstream movie audience -- yet.

Funny, but I can't remember the central theme of the Fantastic Four. For Spider-Man, it was about an average guy who likes a pretty girl. For X-Men, it's a spin on a social issue.

I really liked the first one, but I have to agree with you here. I'll be very interested how they can bring SS to the screen, and I hear they are suppossed to feature Galactus as well.

The central theme to the FF is family. They're not superheroes; they're explorers and adventurers first.

Exactly. They're the Challengers of the Unknown with super-powers.

I'm skeptical about FF2, but I like the idea of having other super-heroes in the movie. Most super-hero movies are about solo heroes existing in a vacuum, and it's nice to see a break from that.

I'm hoping that at some point in the next few years studios that have licensed out seprate heroes will agree on some sort of contract for crossover movies.

Spiderman appearing in a Wolverine movie. Or Daredevil meeting the FF 4, or Spidey like in the comics.

I'm not a devoted reader of comics, most of my exposure comes from the various cartoons that have aired over the last 20 years, but I LOVE crossovers. I dont know why exactly but I just do.

As campy as it was, the Superman/Thundercats crossover comic was a blast for me (and seeing the Eye of Thundera on a pedastle in the Fortress of Solitute for the final frame was just telling...)

Hmmm...Namor? That would certainly be interesting. Then again, they might be going for a Sue/Silver Surfer hook up.

Honestly I think thats retarded, She's getting married to Richards, WHY do they need something to screw with that.

As for Superman/Thundercats, here's how that story goes. Myxplc or however you spell it transfered himself to the Thundercats dimension and made a deal with Mum-Ra to help him get the Eye of Thundera from Supermans earth. MumRa sends the mutants through and the thundercats follow, but end up fighting supes because they dont speak the same language. Snarf for some reason is able to communicate with Supes and explains everything, they team up against Mum-ra and the mutants and save the Eye of Thundera on Earth which Superman puts in the fotress to protect for all time.

With Marvel gathering in the reins to start their own production company, that might happen depending on the exact deals that have been made so far for the heroes already seen on the screen. Cap, Thor, Giant-Man and the Wasp, and Hawkeye could have seperate movies, then form The Avengers, for instance.
