Honestly I think thats retarded, She's getting married to Richards, WHY do they need something to screw with that.

It's Hollywood they always feel the need to shove a love triangle into every story.

Most super-hero movies are about solo heroes existing in a vacuum, and it's nice to see a break from that.
Nothing wrong with existing in a vacuum. Been meaning to watch Wolverine without all them distracting mutant schoolkids.

As if they didn't screw around with that in the comics often enough. HOW many characters were wooing Sue before Reed finally got around to tieing the knot? Heck, she was even thinking about becoming Frau Herr Doktor Von Doom once or twice! (Or, at least, that's the impression she gave.)

Oh, yeah. If Hollywood want to put that in, they got a solid defense. ("Well, it's in the comic books.")

Personally, I think the story need a family vs. family element. Seeing Dr. Doom being outnumbered by FF seems so ... sentai looking (as in Power Rangers versus a major villian of the week). I know, I know, Dr. Doom is FF enemy no. 1. But Batman Begins didn't start off with using the Joker, though they're hinting he may be the next major villain in the sequel.

Exactly! If you're getting married to a Richards, anyone else is just going to be a step down in quality! :)

Actually, I kinda like it. Not as impressive as Spider-Man or X-Men but it is an entertaining sleeper hit. Although I am skeptical that featuring Silver Surfer in the sequel is a bit over the top. While it is true to the comic book, some things just aren't ready for the big screen -- as well as the mainstream movie audience -- yet.

Funny, but I can't remember the central theme of the Fantastic Four. For Spider-Man, it was about an average guy who likes a pretty girl. For X-Men, it's a spin on a social issue.
I will go ahead and place this as a spoiler...
[sblock]Rumor has it he is only going to be the ending credits for a possible 3rd movie...coming to earth[/sblock]

Never said there was anything wrong with it. I just like a little variety, that's all.

Very simple - stable relationships don't make an interesting story. If there aren't going to be "issues", there's no point to making it a story element. But it kind of has to be a story element, insofar as FF has had the family dynamic as a major theme.

Basically, the forging of that marriage is a big deal. So, it has to be difficult :)
