The Doomed Bastards: Reckoning (story complete)

So,any guesses for what Theron said to Dar before he died. Something like, "your too late" or "Orcus comes" leading into the last final rush to try and stop the ritual from completing.

The Doomed Bastards: Reckoning (story complete)

I think I would place money on this not being your average CR2 Ogre encounter. So Lazybones, how many levels of Frenzied Barbarian?

The Doomed Bastards: Reckoning (story complete)

Oh dear, experienced Hobgoblin warriors, multiple Clerics of Orcus and a Vrock. I think I can guess at the friday cliffhanger.

    D&D 4E Why has 4E become the D&D zeitgeist?

I suspect it was because they didnt have ready access to a communication tool that brought together tens of thousands of gamers from across the world and permitted almost instantaneous discussion 24/7. Writing letters to Dragon magazine doesnt have quite the same impact and yet I am pretty...

No spell resistance vs. Orb spells? Why?

Yes. IIRC it basicly turns the NA bonus into a deflection one.

No spell resistance vs. Orb spells? Why?

You only really need to invest in Craft Wondrous Item which leaves more than enough feats for metamagic. Personally I have no real issue with the Orbs. Direct Damage has struggled to be effective since 3.0 due to the mass HP inflation. If damage spells are finally becoming a potential...

What Are The 12 Best Wizard/Sorcerer Spells At Each Level?

Hmm, sirwrmholder's list is missing what are some of the most common high level spells used: Teleport/Greater Teleport Contingency Plane Shift Gate

No spell resistance vs. Orb spells? Why?

Thats a lot of downtime there and also opens the thorny question of whether or not crafting feats allow you to effectviely double your starting welath when starting a game at a higher level.

    Sorcerer and Cantrips

Personally I dont see it as terribly unbalancing to give Sorcerors access to all arcane cantrips an unlimited number of times per day from level 1. Really, how dangerous is an ever usable lightbulb/magic detector?

No spell resistance vs. Orb spells? Why?

Same here. Personally I prefer Dwarves as Wizards and Gnomes or Humans for Sorceror.

No spell resistance vs. Orb spells? Why?

*fails his will save* A +6 con item at level 15 is still a bit of a stretch. 36k out of an available 200k when you are already spending 36k on a +6 int item. Now, I agree that Con will often be the Wizards second highest stat but if we are talking about Orb hurling Wizards here then its...

    Tracking teleportation

There was also a magic version, level 4 or 5. It appeared in an FR product I think. If you have access to higher level spells then Discern Location will do the job. Alternatively Scry or Greater Scry if you are in a hurry.

    Common High-Level Tactics

If you are messing about with quickened spells then you are hitting them with quickened Disjunction first. Bye bye Heroes Feast and most of the non casters gear. Solid Fog is significantly more than an annoyance. It removes line of sight and reduces you to a movement rate of 5' per round...

    Common High-Level Tactics

Assuming you use the solid version you have to cast the dimensional lock before the forcecage or it will block line of effect.

    The Doomed Bastards Character Thread

Varo seems to be missing a feat unless he really isnt human...:) Also, I really expected his intelligence to be higher given how he is written in the story hour.

    Counter-intuitive monsters

I prefer to think of them more along the lines of Hercules, CuCulian (sp?) and Lemunkainen and I can definately see Hercules wrestling an elephant to the ground. For monsters which make no sense to me add my vote for monsters that are just traps. In particular the mimic. Its a monster that...

WotC mistakes that cause you headaches -

You missed Druids, they can do some pretty sick things as well. Best get Sorcerors while your at it.

WotC mistakes that cause you headaches -

Well, you would, Clerics with certain Domains get to do all of the same things and more.

WotC mistakes that cause you headaches -

The description in Timestop isnt entirely clear. It depends on how you interpret it. Do they spells go off when you cast them have no effect until the Timestop ends or do they all kick in at the end of the Timestop. If they all kick in at the end in what order does it happen?
