We're one person low in our group and now is a good time to fill it.
We play 4E (with some tiny tweaks) on Friday nights.
Respond here or send an e-mail to me through my blog.
Well I have no intention of going back to 3E. The time sink caused by marks is nothing compared to the time sink cause by Evard's Black Tentacles, tripping, and so on.
If we did dump 4E, we'd do 1E AD&D or BD&D.
I agree about the paladin's damage being "wimpy". There's a belief in my group...
Thanks, but the thread didn't have anything we haven't tried.
All my current ideas for replacements don't work or ruin the class(es).
Our group has 3 classes that can mark right now (fighter, swordmage, bard), and it got old fast.
The bard dropped it as soon as he could, but it seems that the...
Curses require only the warlock to pay attention.
Same with Hunter's Quarry.
Marks step over each other if you have more than one marking PC.
The DM has to know who has what marked so as not to trigger a mark's power.
When player X gives an OA, a marked monster can swing, but then the marking...
Is there a viable alternative to marks yet?
I don't have issue with quarry or curses, but it seems to me that marks are slowing the game down.
Please tell me a viable replacement exists.
I played EQ off and on for a couple years and started playing WoW this past summer.
WoW is much more fun with much less down time and minor penalties for minor oopses.
Where with EQ, a small goof could get you killed and set you back several days of "playing" time.
Blizzard did their homework...
Anyone with current attendance issues or will be missing a lot in the future should be first out.
Usually I would say boot those with attitude issues first, but I get the impression that's not a problem for your group (hence the large attendance).
I have one attendance problem player in my...
My group isn't that far into it at the moment, and they're all varying levels thanks to attendance.
But I would guess that they start around mid 4th (average level for the group), then be 5th by the time they start the duergar section.
Beyond that I've not read enough to give an answer.
You need to take the time to create an XP generator.
Find a region with about 10 caves of 1 room only.
Then capture creatures to populate those caves, but do not take their stuff.
Then kill those creatures and take their stuff.
Now leave those dead creatures' bodies there, thus attracting more...
I've been with the group for nearly a decade, though it was around at least 5 years before that.
