    How about . . . X-Com Apocylapse

Thanks for the tips guys. Aghh, I wish I had those other games like spycraft, but I just dont have the money to buy them. I think I'm still considering an X-Com agent class, half of the others just dont quite fit. One like the bughunter would look perfect at a glance, but then half of their...

Sort of Grim and Gritty DnD, help?

A fearsome quest. Diviseing the rules that is. The closest I've got to 'grim and gritty' is useing a form of the valtality points system. The tiny amount of grimness basicly comes from the chance that a critical could take you out any moment and that it defines when your actualy hurt more than...

    How about . . . X-Com Apocylapse

Heres a setting I don't think many will have tried out. :) Anyone played the old PC game X-Com Apocylapse? I'm gonna have a go at a campain based on it. Really I'm just looking for a fun easy campain, the focus on action, light on roleplaying and story. The players (my two brothers) will...

Sniper scopes - how to model?

I find that statement a bit odd. Sure it works great in the game, but I can't really see it feeling very real if you try to convert it to paper and dice. Also the reason you can do this in halo is, one, due to the way the game works, and two, the master chiefs unhumanly steady aim. Marines and...

    Three Races (Drowned, Deathtouched, God-touched)

Hmm, tiredness from running and physical activities is really a different thing to sleepy tired. One is lack of energy and wear on the body while the other is more wear on the mind. Kinda... I dont know. When I read this... "-Deathtouched were touched by the spirit of a dead child whilst in...

    Three Races (Drowned, Deathtouched, God-touched)

Hey, good stuff. I like em. They have a neat concept behind them and aren't just another 'animal dudes' race. Im thinking the unresting thing probably is a bit much. But it is kinda cool, so something along those lines would be good. Perhaps they just dont feel tired much and are light...

    Going back to 3.0 ?

I would say get them to buy their own, and PHBs are always being fought over dureing character creation and such, so when you return theres more to go around. Oh, and just incase your doing a maths course, D&D before an alegebra test can be fatal when Ds are used. :p

    Are gold coins universal?

I wasn't sure what to vote. IMC its pretty much gold is gold and worth the same all over. However there are a few areas of my game world that coins will become worthless or need to be exchanged in some way. But overall theres no need to swap.

    Tower Shield

Well said. Its simple enough really. Its almost the same as carrieing a table around and proping it up, just more convienient. If a player declares they kick over a table for cover, do you count them as haveing cover on all sides? Its all common sense. As the graple rules, I agree with Li...

Help with a small (fine) ship in d20 star wars

Yeah, I know what its like to just have a thread sink off the list. Got to be carefull to make it something that people can understand, have something worth replying with, and want to reply. Depending on your budget, would it be possible to pay extra as a way of buying 'compact' equipment for...

    Mercenary companies- in your games?

The kind I was talking about doing that is a huge millitary company of mercs, basicly a free lance army with a fleet, mech and armour divisions, air support, all that stuff. Very orginised and as well trained as any other millitary. I was talking about a full interstelar type future game, I...

    Crit with Harm?

Personaly I wouldn't allow a crit for either cure or harm regardless of circumstances. I don't see it as doing physical damage but rather as targeting the targets life force, and that it doesn't matter where that life force is because whats left will ballance out any way. So, I'd say no crits...

Help with a small (fine) ship in d20 star wars

Afraid I can't really help, you sound to have more experience than I do. If a snow speeder could do it (and fit) without its lazers, perhaps you could base it on that, but replace the lazers with something else/saccrifice their power a bit/pay extra for a 'compact' version? Something like that...

    Mercenary companies- in your games?

Certainly use them (will be any way), great way to piece together adventures whether the PCs are mercs or otherwise. Pirates too, what better way to add a little bit of combat than setting a bunch of raiders on the PCs. Mercs can be anything, from a rag tag with basic craft takeing whatever job...

    where would you go?

Sorry, but you'd probably be trailed as a murderer actually, get your head choped off or something, and just have to hope some hot elf chick walks past your grave some time. :\ But at least you did the right thing eh? :)

    other gods of mischief

IMC I have a cult of Kandar, my own minor god of chaos. The cult isn’t the old stereotypical black, rituals and skulls type, rather the type who get terribly drunk and cause mischief. Their plans currently include throwing hundreds of magical bouncing beans into a council meeting, and painting...

    Tower Shield

I agree totaly with that FAQ entry. As I was reading down the thread and seeing bits like... "* Since D&D has no facing, he has total concealment to 2 monsters flanking him?" I was thinking, thats no good, perhaps it could work like other cover, and need to designate a side as part of the...

    Eschew Materials??

After reading this I've decided that I am going to change the role of components, by adding in the 'wand' system discussed here. My current campain isn't too far in yet to add them, especialy as the PCs are mostly forgieners, so things being different in this new land might not be too weird...

    Eschew Materials??

How many pouches do these wizards have anyway? What happens if they pull out their tiny mirror to find it smeared in bat guano? Trying to find the little iron bar, but get the little glass one by mistake. Its just always seemed rather hokey. I have been tempted just to get rid of all the minor...

    Eschew Materials??

In my games sorcs get this free right away (but only for their sorc spells, no multiclassing mischief here). The sorc description tells about their innate nature and how they accidentaly cause strange effects when young; how are they going to do this if they have to be holding an onion (or...
