Keep your filthy points of light away from me!

Changes to the Greyhawk Unit: Hey, let's tear that house down and use the pieces on others houses with no regard to fit or function.

D&D 4E Is liking 4E biased by how many books you own?

I think my library would sort of invalidate your hypothesis. I might have a great deal of 3E/D20 books. Just looking at my read library versus my store library I count about 130. Where I think you are wrong is that I have just as many for 1st and 2nd edition and I obviously went to 3rd. Some...

4th Edition Anger Spills onto the Table

This is pretty much the consensus amongst my group. I'm completely not enthused with what I hear about 4E and I have probably the best opinion in my group.

D&D 4E 4E WotC way of saying your fired?

Seeing Paizo's quality and love of the game and balancing it against WoTC's quality and love of the game I'd have to say I'll stick with Paizo no matter what. Everything they've done I've enjoyed, unfortunately the same cannot be said of WoTC.

Dear WotC - You suck at names.

I think Feywild would be better as Feyweald. Has a better sound and looks neat. Of course that's just my opinion.

    Load me up with Eberron!

Personally, I love the books on the Five Nations and the Forge of War. Those books are great. I really love the setting, but can't bring myself to play it. It's like a beautiful diarama, I don't want to mess up any of the pieces.

Tell me about your best (and worst) campaign endings

I've literally had 2 campaigns in which I played end in a TPK from stirges. In both cases we were 3rd and 4th level, and the encounter with the stirges wiped us out. Needless to say, I've become quite cautious around stirges or even the hint of stirges since.

D&D 4E Should hit points continue to be generated randomly in 4e?

I don't know, some of the most fun I had was with a character who was a fighter/cleric (this is second edition) with only a 7 Constitution who never rolled more than 1 for the hit points. I may not have lasted long in every fight, but dang it it was fun.

    WotC Blogs II

Me too. I mean, the internet is now quite mature, how come something like this has not been released yet? This product might very well be my tipping point on DDI.

    WotC Blogs II

I actually hate the new encounter design. As a DM I might as well not even be there, I just get to read the book, set the board and roll the dice. I can't even see if the monsters would have a more advantageous fight from some other locale, because all I get is a small locale. In encounter...

Why is the WoW influence a bad thing?

I always did the adventuring to see what was out there, how it was written, to enjoy the content. In my games the loot was generally very light anyway, and that's how I intend to run it no matter the rules.

Why is the WoW influence a bad thing?

I agree with you about Vancian magic. It creates an interesting logistics issue, one that I think adds some complexity to the game, but I seem to be in the minority on enjoying it.

Why is the WoW influence a bad thing?

Isn't the party running out of steam part of the challenge of these types of adventures. I think what the previous poster is saying is that per-encounter means that there is now no need to stop at all, no need to camp, no need to catch your breath. I'm just saying that's the impression I'm...

    Changes to Devils and Demons

Or actually read Moorcock, where most of the alignment divisions were taken from. In a magical world where Law and Chaos are real sources of power, the alignments actually take on a meaning.

    Changes to Devils and Demons

Well, they did just invalidate two of their best books, the Fiendish Codices. As someone who enjoys the history of D&D itself, this just strikes me as odd. Looks like poor Malcanthet and Castle Maure are going to have their stories rocked.

Was there a defining moment for you?....

I'm still not taken. I'm waiting to see the actual books. Then I'll do as I always do and change the rules I don't like.

    D&D 4E 1st level 4E characters are already Heroes

I don't know, I generally play with an average wisdom of about 6. So it works for me.

    D&D 4E 1st level 4E characters are already Heroes

I always think they send them because they are the ones dumb enough to go. At least that's how it works in my games.

    D&D 4E 1st level 4E characters are already Heroes

I'm feeling more and more the odd man out as I read these boards. I personally loved the lower levels, the danger was much more evident. And it teaches you that if you think you're going to die maybe you should run. Heck I enjoyed the zero-level pc rules that were out for a while, where you...

    D&D 4E Dungeon Delve format in 4e?

I totally agree. I hate this new system. Maybe it you are really, really into using miniatures it is helpful, but for someone who wants to arrange things the way they want it just takes up space. How much actually useful material could have been included in those modules if this stuff was...
