reviews baby! That's where it is for me. I can wait a month or 3 or 4 and read the reviews before I plunk down some money for an RPG product.

Ah. That problem. It's existed since the game left gygax's hands and hit the general public. I don't like that sort of play at all. However, one man's trash is another's treasure. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who enjoy having monsters of ever-increasing CR thrown at them...

I can believe the 2.25 Million quite easily. All of this counting of RPG clubs and such is undercounting. I'm guessing there are more gamers around that are not in clubs, than are members. Also, think of the numbers needed to support a LGS, then figure out how many people are buying stuff...

rathor- I think you pretty much covered it on your initial post. My advice on a homebrew is to give up on the idea of it being ever completely "finished". What I've done in my homebrew is drawn out the land, put in mountains, rivers, etc... Decided on general populace and sprinkled it...

Cough it up! And make sure you introduce a new monster and break some of the game's rules with some of the NPCs to give it that good old dark-roasted, classic flavor. I built up a classic "derelict ancient evil tomb" adventure for my group, and we had a blast. Until they were almost eaten...
