Best of the Best: You Tell Me

If I had $200 I'd probably do something like: Grim Tales, Creature Collection, Relics and Rituals, Freeport City of Adventure, and the two Iron Kingdoms books. Grim Tales, IK and Freeport are ripe for plucking ideas out of, and my group seems to use the Creature Collection and Relics and...

Anyone have the Iron Kingdoms book? I have questions

The Cosmology and Religion section breaks down like this: Cosmology (page 205) History of the Gods of Men (207) Morrow (209) Thamar (217) Menoth (225) The Devourer Wurm (230) Cyriss (235) Gods of the Dwarves (239) Gods of the Elves (245) Scyrah (247) Cults of the Vanished (251) Nyssor (251)...

Anyone have the Iron Kingdoms book? I have questions

There are about 60 feats in the book. There are four types of feats: General (28 feats), Item Creation (1 feat), Faith (15 feats) and Society (18 feats). The Faith feats represent the devotion of a cleric to a god's cause. For example, a cleric of Dhunia can take a feat which allows the...

Anyone have the Iron Kingdoms book? I have questions

Spider Climb is still there, it's now a 2nd level spell. They don't get the combat styles called out as class abilities. They get bonus feats starting at 4th level and every 5 levels thereafter (9th, etc.) In the list of bonus feats are the archery chain and the two-weapon fighting chain.

    Must Have DVDs

A lot of what I would consider must haves have already be covered: X-Men and X2 Big Trouble in Little China The Matrix Indiana Jones But one I haven't seen listed, and the movie that I consider the "best of all time" is Once Upon a Time in the West A big, sprawling Sergio Leone western. D.

    Any 3.0 diehards out there?

My group of 7 has stayed with the 3.0 version. We did this for two basic reasons: We don't see anything really wrong with 3.0, and we had no desire to spend another $90 to re-buy books that already work. When I get in the DM chair again, I will probably house rule a few things but these...

Anyone have the Iron Kingdoms book? I have questions

Here are the changes I saw on a quick run-thru. The 0-level and 1st-level are pretty easy, the big changes start at 2nd! 0th: Remove - Disrupt Undead Add - Know Direction, Message, Touch of Fatigue 1st: Remove - Animate Rope, Change Self, Enlarge, Erase, Floating Disk, Message, Reduce...

Anyone have the Iron Kingdoms book? I have questions

The book has a 50 page chapter on Cosmology and Religion. How it varies from the Monsternomicon I can't say as I don't have that book. Sorry. D.

Anyone have the Iron Kingdoms book? I have questions

The bonus feats for the Gun Mage are the same as in the PDF. As for the spell list there are quite a few differences. I started to list them out but there were a bunch. Some spells were removed, others were added and some changed level. Also, I still play DnD 3.0 so I'm not sure what changes...

Anyone have the Iron Kingdoms book? I have questions

As a clarification, I haven't read the book yet, I'm reading peoples questions and then flipping through the book to try to find the answer. In other words, I don't guarantee that my answer are fully correct, but hopefully they are pretty close! :) The creation of Mechanikal items covers...

Anyone have the Iron Kingdoms book? I have questions

There were two IKCG specific bonus feats for the Gun Mage that I saw. One was Combat Loading and the other was Improved Combat Loading. In IK reloading a firearm requires a Craft skill check and a Concentration check and also provokes and Attack of Opportunity. The Combat Loading feat gives a...

Anyone have the Iron Kingdoms book? I have questions

The Riflemen doesn't have the "find a mentor" type requirement, and the 9th level ability Quick Load (Cannon) is gone, otherwise it appears just as on the Privateer website. For healing, a cleric can heal a number of points equal to 10 + Wis mod * caster level per day. If he exceeds this then...

Anyone have the Iron Kingdoms book? I have questions

Thanks for the welcome! I think the art looks good, it really doesn't seem dark to me. There is a small, dark splotch that in the page background art on the top, center of most pages that sometimes make a few letters or a word on the first few lines hard to see, but it's really not bad.

Anyone have the Iron Kingdoms book? I have questions

The bonded Magelock Pistol works sorta like a familiar in DnD. As the Gun Mage goes up in level the pistol get more hardness and hit points and gives special abilities. These are some of the standard abilities from familiars like share spells and use of the Alertness feat. As the Gun Mage...

Anyone have the Iron Kingdoms book? I have questions

Picked up the book at Origins and after a quick look thru it looks like the Gun Mage's class abilities stay the same, but the spells per day go up. The Gun Mage now has 6/6/6/6/5/4/4 spells per day at 20th level. The progression is now: 1st: 2 2nd: 3/0 3rd: 3/1 4th: 4/2/0 5th: 4/3/1 6th: 4/3/2...
