    Stat limit of 20?

You can go over, but not until after level 20 or with a blessing.

Dire Wolf Mount - why does every single Rogue not have one ??

It was popular when it first came out, but now there are so many ways to gain combat advantage it's rather moot.

    The inevitable playtest poll

A couple nice things baked into the basic character choice but otherwise very disappointing.

Please step away from the 4th edition "effect everything" abilities.

Favored enemy doesn't really work as a general feature and has bad implications. You have a bonus that either doesn't function or provides little benefit. Hardly special. Furthermore, the DM should never feel obligated to shoehorn their encounters because of one particular class feature or...

Book of Vile Darkness (short review)

Surprising lack of necrotic support. Poison support isn't much better--just a couple "once per day tack some on." Still no cold ki focus for vamps/assassins/monks. I liked the Channel Divinities and the disciple feats for the most part. The boons generally have ok properties but some of them...

Why do we need Encounter Powers?

Encounter powers were introduced in 3.5, although if you're counting stuff like "do X during the first round" feats it's at least as old as Dirty Fighting. The psionic classes (Monk aside) already tried an encounterless power setup; it's an iffy tradeoff. The e-class tend you to give you more...

    Are feats the problem?

Characters get the vast majority of their damage from items and features. Attack and defense are much the same. The feat system in 3E misfired because they were small patches trying to compensate for huge gaps in competency. Not a big fan of the CP system either as the point disparity...

Just how many weapons do you use anyway?

You went for a slightly bigger light blade instead of the light blades you can already use. That isn't a weapon type issue. Ideally I want to have a suitably hurty main weapon and a secondary with some type of useful power. Implements tend to have a wider variety of utility, but frankly...

    (MME) Is it just me...

Most of the things you'd want to have are uncommon or rare, and they give more gold/residuum if you get rid of them. It's a pretty hollow distinction. Agile is a. more restrictive b. available to light armor users now via Ringmail.

The thing about flail expertise is that it is easier/quicker to obtain than the previous methods of "I knock things down a lot." Flail Strike is also very strong. 1 AC is the difference between scale and plate. Hide wearers with a good secondary and this now have the best AC you can get...

    Optimizing a Con-based Warlock

I am a bit surprised you're not starting with the Sorcerer-King Pact, even if only for Mindbite Scorn. Vestige Pact, at least starting out can also be helpful for a sort of arcane sniper (Zutwa boosts your Prime Shot)

    (MME) Is it just me...

It looks like a parody except for the cheese items and the ridiculous flail feats.

    Best 'utility' magic weapons.

Hidden would be quite thematic, as a few others like Subtle.

Tools of Two Trades (Weapliment Expertise) Article Up

Not all divine classes can use holy symbols. Even among those with proficiency, most Paladins and Avengers would be perfectly fine never using theirs at all. Devoted Priest blows the other two divine-themed ones away. White Lotus Duelist sounds funny. "What do you think of my plan?" "I...

    So, About the Dejada...?

It's only 1 more (average) damage than a generic sling. The gouge as mentioned has great stats and counts as two strongly supported weapon types. Wrist razors have also become somewhat popular as a way to carry particular enchantments hands-free.

    Battle Cleric Options is up

It's not strictly about deadliness as otherwise you'd have wet floors and rock as effective as a spear or an arrow. I don't doubt there were capable quarterstaff users to serve as inspiration for Little John. But by the same token, those stories are largely about a bowman. I'd agree...

    Feats & Fighters

That's the problem. They're already down a stat to accuracy. They will be for the most part down at least one stat to damage. Picking up a 2-handed weapon or a non-blade/hammer means other features don't work. Similarly, since it sounds like there won't be much in the way of class-specific...

Strength Clerics Getting Away With Warpriest Domains

Are there even that many Battle Clerics around after the nerf to Righteous Brand? Divine Challenge was a self-created problem. The original version did higher damage with the CHA as a supplement. The early response was that it was too strong so the final version made CHA much more important.
