If someone were to have another person design a Monster Template for them, and by that I mean the layout of how it would look in a book such as Creature Name, Stats, where the numbers go, modifiers if applicable, Attacks, Defenses, etc...
In US dollars, what would be the going price to have...
Acumen is different as it encompasses your mind as well. Each save has two opportunities to make it good or great (I mean they could end up bad, too, if both Stats that happen to correspond with a Save are just really terrible), with Acumen using both Agility and Knowledge.
Agility I could see...
It is its own game. A roll under system with degrees of success.
So for a Save to succeed you need to roll under its Attribute Number.
The player rolls ANYTHING when the Game Master tells them to.
Usually an Acumen Save when confronted with a Surprise or Trap or an AoE of some sort.
An...
My mistake.
The Stat bonuses granted by each Role are halved in this case, and this choice is made at character creation.
The game doesn't do Levels, it is EXP for Traits that expand upon the character.
What do you wish to know?
No, that isn't the intent.
The Roles the characters have do add bonuses to certain Stats, which could effect the Saves, but every Save shouldn't end up similar.
10 is the base line, and it could go as low as 6 if you have 2 really bad Stats that modify it, or as high as 16 if you have 2 really...
Yes & No.
3e/PF Saves were
Fortitude - Constitution
Reflex - Dexterity
Willpower - Wisdom
This uses two Stats and adds the modifier from each Stat (yes, even the negative ones) to effect the number on the Save.
Agility is a Stat.
The game uses the approach of the GM decides which Stat to use for the roll.
With that in mind, Agility is used for dodging attacks and could be used for an array of Skill tests. But for example a Fireball or Lightning Bolt or Trap would use an Acumen Save.
I am creating a TTRPG, and have decided to go with 3 Saves
Acumen - a combination of Dexterity & Intelligence
Endurance - a combination of Strength & Constitution
Willpower (may change to Ego) - a combination of Wisdom & Charisma
My game doesn't use the 6 Classic Stats however, but to give you...
Okay, so some things aren't intrinsic to the game's mechanics
such as the 6 Core Stats, Alignment, Humans/Elves/Dwarves/Orcs, Fighters/Mages/Clerics/Thieves, Saving Throws, Experience, Levels -- just as long as the playstyle feels old school?
No, he said I have hints and wasn't up front. But this was after he said I never mentioned anything and I told him I did, several times over the weeks.
If hints are things like, "Where is my character? When the heck am I getting him back?" and "I want my character back." I guess I am hinting...
I understand that. I am fairly lax when it comes to games I DM. I do like a bit of courtesy, like if you cannot make it or whatever. And you can come and go as you please.
Yeah, he can have his BBEG randomly show up at places, have portals of my superiors open up before my eyes so I have to...
Yup. When I pointed out that they should have taken accountability for their actions (the reason for me leaving), and told them all of the reasons using examples they created that were out of my control that they could have resolved seeing as they were the DM. But, instead, they chose to ignore...
Nah, I do not plan to join a future game of theirs if they have one.
I also just returned to some lengthy voice messages
Apparently we never talked about it, but then I brought up we did, so apparently he doesn't take hints.
I guess me asking about my character and mentioning I...
I have been playing in this D&D 5e game for quite a while now.
It started with 4 of us, 2 dropped out for unknown reasons.
So, 2 of us have been playing since the beginning.
We had some NPCs to help us out, they were hirelings.
Some plot went down where he lost a large chunk of them so the...
