by the rules, you can be invis and flank, and help an ally flank.
as long as your not blinded, dazed, dominated, dying, helpless, petrified, stunned, surprised, or unconscious you can flank, as long as your adjacent.
it's perfectly clear if you have read it.
once per turn, you can cause the extra damage to one attack. you can even determine to add the extra damage AFTER the attack roll.
so, if you crit an OA, and have not used it this turn, you can choose to make it "really mean".
Just my bit of fluff to try and show how you can just have cover to make a sneak attack.
your in a forest, lots of trees, the rogue is ducking, diving, juking behind/around them, you see him most of the time, but occasionally loose sight of him for just a moment, That moment when he has an...
only worry about making active perception rolls for mobs that are actively trying to engage the stealthy git or are engaged by him. (using minor actions of course).
If your passive stealth beats passive perception, then the rest of the combatants can't really help, since they're probably...
And this is after Xorn has been chewed on for his belief's on how "hidden" works.
If he can be happy, so can you.
and it's not just role playing games. it's ANY game (do not play Monopoly with my family, it's sad, just sad...)
So, the minion dies before it can do anything 99% of the time (the unholy hand of the BBEG being the exception).
so, the only real difference i can see are abilities that trigger upon death, such as a warlocks Pact boon. wether the fey warlock ports during the wizards turn or during the minions...
level 1 encounter, 2 skirmishing skeletons and 3-4 minion skellies
2 skirmishers out in front to slow the advance. minions pluck bows and weaken good guys.
dont always use them for flanking, use them intelligently to get the most out of them...
Of course i have to try and kill my players to...
RogueDeft Strike - 5
Piercing Strike - 5
Riposte Strike - 4
Sly Flourish - 4
Deft strike - 7 move, strike, and shift/move away...Very effective in combat practice
Piercing strike - 8 As mentioned, +8 to hit (with dagger) at level 1 vs reflex is very nice.
Good question about riposte strike...
pg 291 "Interrupting an Enemy"
My problem is that readied actions are reactions, not interrupts. If the rogue is stealthily adjacent to you in a forest, he could stealth attack and you couldn't use your readied minor or standard actions to spot it coming and perceive the rogue or his attack...
very good response on how stealth works.
My addition is this. The only creature that you need to roll perception for on a stealth attack, is the target of the attack. His buddies can't go "there he is!!" fast enough for the poor schlub to benefit from allies perception.
If you stealthed in a...
Eldritch blast is an Implement.
Not possible to use for sneak attack. no Weapon keyword, even with a pact blade.
You would get the enchantment bonus of the weapon tho on the eldritch blast, nothing more.
The weapon is not doing the attack. Your bolt of eldritch energy, channeled through the...
Mr obvious
Just to state the obvious. without any other abilities, just a straight save...
45% of getting immobilized
about 20% chance of getting stunned.
1 out of 5, not bad.
