    Govt' sponsored adventuring groups... charters...

Perhaps the government is looking to colonize new land beyond the city wall. With sanctioned and controlled groups, the govenement can be assured of setting up friendly villages, towns, etc since any group would be claiming land in the name of the sponsoring gov't, not their own concerns...

    Free Adventure Path

I'm running this now, with some cosmetic changes to fit in the Dragonlance setting. The players blazed through the first few encounters, so I beefed up all the guards with various class levels (maybe a little too much)... then they started fighting in the courtyard and it all turned in to one...

    Favorite edition of Ravenloft?

I6 It took the D&D dungeon delve format in a totally different way, and the card reading mechanic was a bit of shear brilliance on the part of Tracy.

Yeah, I heard Haim was supposed to be in it, but at the last minute something feel apart and Feldman ended up being the only one to return.

Gargoyle and Ettin preview at WotC

Not really liking the Ettin... the blonde hair and skin tone make him look like a an over-sunned surfer-dude.

How often do you use traps?

Rarely... I don't want the party checking every 5 feet for a new trap, so I keep it sparingly. The plus side is that since I do use them rarely, the traps usually have a better impact.

Last Potter Picture to be adapted into two

For this last film in the series, I'm not surprised that they would actually make two films... but this was also the plan for Goblet of Fire (two films for one book to be released a few months apart) and in the end they backed out of that idea (why, I have absolutely no idea!). Agreed that it...

    "Discovering" fantasy fiction: Dragonlance

The original DL books were some of the first fantasy novels I ever read... not only have I read dozens of other DL books over the years (some good, some bad), but it quickly became one of my favorite settings and the only one I use as a DM.

    Old dungeon(?) adventure

Yeah, it sounds more like Treasure Hunt, than Isle of the Abbey. I have both, but only ran Isle of the Abbey, and I recall that being for 1st - 3rd level.

    Scooby Doo d20?

Wasn't that Hijinks? And I think it was more based on Josie and the Pussycats. Either way, I may have to find this game and try mixing it with a little Call of Cthulu d20... <evil grin>

How much of published modules do you change?

That depends on the module... at the very least, I change the necessary details I need to make it fit into the Dragonlance world that I run. Often I do change the starting hook, to be something more character specific (like an old friend in need; or part of a longer character quest...
