DC Area Savage Worlds call for players

Curse you for not living in my town! ;) :(

I was just in Great Escapes tonight... I live like 5 minutes away. Uh, yeah, so... I'm not up for playing "evil". In all my past experiences, it has gone horribly horribly wrong. As for UC Davis... I feel old and creepy hanging around colleges, so that's not gonna work for me. Otherwise, I got...

NorCal Game Day II. January 31st 2004 at Gamer's Keepe in Vacaville?

I have to bow out of a Game Day outside of the Sacramento Area. Sorry folks. But the show will go on! Have fun and good luck.

    Warcraft RPG update

I'm using a lot of Warcraft inspired elements in my Savage Worlds Last Legends homebrew. Converting things over is super easy. I especially like WC's orcs, tauren, and their take on dwarves.

    Mini Carrying case

Gah! Threads like these always make me want to buy something to tote and store (or mainly, use for moving) my Heroclix collection. Only... I have yet to see a case that can comfortably hold 300+ figures, especially on clix bases.

Warcraft: Manual of Monsters - any good?

Hunh... I could have sworn I responded to this... Well, to sum up. It's a good book. It has some Warcraft-twists on "traditional" D&D monsters, and a lot of orinial stuff. I would recommend it. I don't know about the CRs and whatnot. The art is good to excellent, but all b&w except the cover and...

As far as gaming, I'm all for somehing a little different from your run-of-the-mill D&D. I mean, I like vanilla D&D okay, but I prefer stuff that has a twist. And not crazy twists, "you're all dead", or "you're all from the modern day", but just interesting ones. That being said, homebrewed...

    Accountability

All I was saying is if people had been given a head's up that the site was in financial straights, I am almost positive they would have gladly given the money needed to bail it out. I mean, they paid his way to Origins (or GenCon)! He's a rock-star. He could at this point say "Hey all, I'd...

    Banned from Gencon!

That's funny. We had a similar thing, but it was called "Who's gonna get Blackleafed?" It didn't last for long though. Pretty much after the first guy got Blackleafed, the comedy wore off...

Do you use miniatures or counters to resolve combat?

Hm, you don't exactly have the option I would choose, and that's "Whatever is handy." If I have approriate miniatures (or even close proximities) I'll use those, if not, tokens, beads, coins, dice, etc...

    Accountability

I may be stating the obvious here, or missing the mark completely, but I think what is bothering some people is this: We don't want to see, some time in the future, a notice like we got yesterday (or the day before yesterday, depending on your time zone), which basically said. "Uh, hey guys...

NorCal Game Day II. January 31st 2004 at Gamer's Keepe in Vacaville?

Hm, looks like we'll have the boards around for a while to come still. Good news, but still, I think November 8th is an unlikelyhood. I'd say now to defineately push it back some and re-organize.

EDIT: okay, scratch the boards going down... ;)

NorCal Game Day II. January 31st 2004 at Gamer's Keepe in Vacaville?

Hm, well, considering that news and the news that ENWorld is going down tomorrow or so... Is it just a wash then? This thread is the main source of communication and the focal point for finding out about the event and organizing it. Without it, I think we are simply doomed. Sad. Normally I may...

Hey Aaron, what are we talkin' here? Vanilla D&D? A published setting? A homemade setting? Any ideas?

    Pinnacle's Savage Worlds

A lot has been announced. They only have like 2 or 3 guys writing everything though, it seems. Check out www.savageheroes.com for a ton of fan made cool stuff. Also on the site is a Deadlands conversion that would hold just about anyone over until the official SW Dealands is released, plus...

    Warcraft Manual of Monsters

I was making a general statement. Not directed at you or anyone.

    Warcraft Manual of Monsters

The Warcraft setting is fully D&D3.5 compatible. It, er, kinda says it right on the books. Everquest is OGL-only. The monsters in the Manual of Monsters are just monsters from the Warcraft setting. So, it's like the Creature Collections, Fiend Folio, or what have you. Sure, some may have the...

    Pinnacle's Savage Worlds

It's really just a good system. It doesn't need a hard sell. I do not think it can cover every single genre well. Depending on the genre, you may or may not have to do some work to get it how you want it. But, that work is not hard to do. It's super easy to make up NPCs, vehicles, powers...
