D&D General How much dice do you own?

Oh, and... Looks like my dice count just went up by +7. 🙃

D&D General How much dice do you own?

A few hundred, but it ebbs and flows. Occasionally I'll treat myself to a nice set or a unique, I mostly I'll just pick up a cheap grab-bag of many sets now and then. I like to keep lots on hand mainly so I can gift matched sets to new players, nieces & nephews, or whoever.

The Ultra-Mysterious History of D&D's Iconic Monsters

What a great article! I still remember occasionally getting bags of those "dinosaurs" from the dime store, as stocking stuffers, or whatever as a little kid. I was completely smitten by (real) dinosaurs, of course, so some of those badly injection-molded plastic critters really, really baffled...

Worlds of Design: Worldbuilding 101 (Part 1)

Not even remotely certain how to approach it off he top of my head, but I think the concept of "retconning history" could be an interesting premise for a campaign.

First SpaceX Crewed Launch today (5/27) at 4:30 PM

They'll be opening the hatches between Endeavor and ISS in 10 or 15 minutes. eta: the "welcome ceremony" is scheduled about 30 mins from now (at 15 mins past the hour).

First SpaceX Crewed Launch today (5/27) at 4:30 PM

It was an excitingly uneventful launch, and my heart was racing the whole time! Just a little vexed when the video cut out a couple seconds before the first stage stuck its landing, and then cut back in a couple seconds after with smoke still clearing. ;) Oh well.

EN World Two potential site upgrades

I'm neutral on threading. Personally I like it, but not being available for some platforms seems a problem. Blocking can be a nice feature (though I personally can't imagine needing it here), so I support adding that one. .

    D&D 5E (2014) Hypothetical 50th Anniversary Core Rulebooks

Basically 5e exactly as is, except they'll retrofit it to use THAC0.

D&D 5E (2014) Sing to me of Box Sets, what cool things have been in them, what cool things do you want in them?

Speaking a currently groupless gamer, a boxed set that included half a dozen players would be pretty sweet. (Just please don't forget to poke some holes in the box, WotC.)

    D&D 5E (2014) Dim Light question

I'm now envisioning a little dinner party of mindflayers serving up cranium rat brain aspic-- on the good china, of course.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dim Light question

The "fey" special feature on a magic item (DMG p142) causes it to shed dim light in a 5ft radius.

    D&D 5E (2014) Mythic Odyssey's Mythic Actions

That pic makes my scalp itch. * shudder *

    D&D 5E (2014) Is there even a new D&D setting?

I'm still holding out for Desert of Desolation (even though that's not just its title, but also a pretty good description of the chance it will actually happen).

    D&D and the rising pandemic

US always has deep dips in reported numbers on weekends. And today is Memorial Day, so this weekend was three days long. Tomorrow the numbers should hop back up again as reporting agencies return from vacation and play catch up on the stats.

D&D 5E (2014) These Animated Spell Cards Look Like Something From The Future

The spells are pretty nifty, but I'm most tempted by the tarot deck-- especially the Fool, just for the animation of the puppy dog's tongue & tail flapping in the breeze. 🤗

D&D General Department and program ideas in a wizard academy

A class called "Fundamental Principals of Concentration", which (to those unfamiliar with arcane scholastics) looks a lot like dodgeball.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

I know not a lot of people wore masks before covid, but I did see them here and there... and I don't recall all the righteous indignation against those people back then. This is getting insane, and nasty.

    D&D 3.x monster search

That description sounds really familiar-- especially the green flower on the head, but I can't quite place it. Only things I can think of match only part of your description: Corpse flower, stinky with tentacles, but it's higher level. And it's big. Mandrake is sort of tuber-like with a low CR...

    D&D and the rising pandemic

The reality-- of Life in general-- is that what people can do, what they should do, and what they do do are almost never in alignment.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

That's just how we do social distancing here in Texas. Yeehaw!
