    Any Buzz For Dungeon Alchemist?

I backed it the moment I saw it. Hell, I might not ever even use it, but it's still cool!

Wilderlands of High Fantasy - What do I need to start a 5e campaign?

FYI, I've created a group on Facebook as a home for discussing all things WoHF. Wilderlands of High Fantasy Seems the Judge's Guilds forums on Facebook are no longer available, so there's really no place for fans of this amazing setting to congregate. I intend to scour the internet, inviting...

    D&D 5E (2014) Material components

I think 3rd defined it as 1 page per spell level. I'm not sure 5th bothers to define it.

Wilderlands of High Fantasy - What do I need to start a 5e campaign?

Don't mind my thread necromancy. As others have pointed out - the boxed set is what you want, unless you want to run in the City State, then pick up that book as well. It's good stuff. Warning: It's all very gonzo, and some of it borders on ridiculous. I found a butcher shop location in the...

D&D General Recommendations for a "Witcher" style campaign

I think the monster advice is on point. In fact, I spent some time last night going through the MM and finding monsters that I thought would work well (as-is), and a narrative began to emerge from that. a spectator (pg. 30) could guard a lair - interesting because it could be described like a...

D&D General Recommendations for a "Witcher" style campaign

God, I love the internet. Me: "I want to do a thing" Quickleaf: "Here's a 100+ page PDF, and multiple links on how to do that thing!" Good god, man. To be clear, I'm not interested in actually playing in that setting, or creating/using a witcher class. But that's an impressive amount of work...

D&D General Recommendations for a "Witcher" style campaign

Yea, I'm thinking just eliminating certain classes is probably the lazy way of doing this. Fighter, rogue, bard, barbarian, ranger and paladin would be OK. Monk might work, but I tend to hate them, flavor-wise anyway. Sorcerer or warlock could be justified, since it seems like they could exist...

D&D General Recommendations for a "Witcher" style campaign

Yea, I was thinking this yesterday - about how (outside of Nekkers, and maybe Cyclops), the monsters are very interesting. A lot of them are quite mysterious, and require finesse to take care of - either by removing some curse, rooting them out, or using magic to deal with them. Of course, a lot...

D&D General Recommendations for a "Witcher" style campaign

I'm toying with the idea of constructing a campaign around something with the feel of the Witcher. Specifically Velen. For people who aren't familiar, Velen is basically a despicable swampy land, where the people live in constant fear of monsters, abject poverty, hunger, corruption, bandits...

Blog (A5E) Level Up’s Monsters: The Stat Block

A linear regression is a statistical machine learning algorithm that allows you to put in many different variables in order to predict some specific quantifiable value. In this case: CR. For example. the Zillow real estate app most likely uses something like a linear regression to take things...

Is this what happens when you throw monster statblocks into a linear regression, using CR as your dependent variable?

Oh yea, I already did. They are indistinguishable from any other dice I own.

Someone local scooped this a few minutes ago, and I had to go check it out for myself. RPG dice for $1 - at Dollar Tree.

Trying to find some mapping software

Yea, I find it odd that some of these programs try to do everything. That just makes some of them super-complicated. I've resorted to just using PowerPoint (it's my secret weapon). With a large enough library of tiles, and furniture, I can build whatever I want just by dragging it into a blank...

Trying to find some mapping software

AutoRealm looks super complicated, and really ugly. Definitely not. No, I think it must have been a very old windows-based version of Dungeon Painter that I had. Unfortunately, it seems, I no longer have it. I also use Tiamat The Tile Mapper from time to time. It's good for simple things...

Trying to find some mapping software

I'm wondering if it's an old version of this: http://pyromancers.com/dungeon-painter-online/ It seems somewhat familiar. But the old version I had was probably free, and probably no longer available.

Trying to find some mapping software

Years ago, I used to use a mapping software package that was tile-based, and super easy to use. You could even create your own .bmp tiles and import them, so you had limitless options. I can't seem to find it anywhere, and I don't remember what it was called. This ring a bell with anyone...

Satanic Panic of the late 80's

I don't know if they're still available (Doubtful), but I literally just went on his site and bought a couple of sets. I gave a bunch out at one Gen Con. I still have a set in my drawer.
